being folowed by stars

Maybe it's the ships in supercruise ?
First day I played I thought those were space creatures because of the weird sounds they make, in my mind they were buzzing around me fascinated by this metal thing flying through their space-home.

Yes, I'm stupid.

no ships out here 17k LY from home thay move with me when i look around my cockpit

i use to get it around black hole and asumed it was gravaty but no where near any black holes atm

Well, lensing effect from nearby neutron star or black hole.

Well I never, yes I think it was in a Black Hole system.

Hang on I think I may have recorded it.

Yeah here...

Yes Maia has a black hole, so this is just gravitational lensing then?

It's just it doesn't seem to behave the way you'd expect, look at the way it moves, it veers to the side as you move then slowly re-centers. But if you move slowly it stays in the middle?

I am ignorant of these things but I wouldn't have thought this is how a light effect would behave?

What, the lensing effects is a single dot?

Check out youtube for videos of Sagittarius A to see the full lensing effect when directly viewing a black hole.

I think Bofhenator is suggesting this is a secondary effect.

ie The single dot is a lensing effect rather than the lensing effect being a single dot.

I dont think it has anything to do with black holes or neutron stars, i've seen it a few times recently in systems with simple stars and planets only.

I don't have enough data to say but I suspect it somehow *is* related to the system though.

Just been googling, first hit was this :

This guy just happens to be in Maia too, same as my vid, surely that's too much of a coincidence?
