Current Clipper/outfitting discounts?

Heya guys

OK so been playing about 2 months now and finally got to 70 million and Baron so going to buy the Clipper and outfit it for combat.

Is there anywhere that has a nice 10% or 15% discount going on? I had a quick read through the community goal posts but didn't really understand how they work? I can't really see which ones are currently active.

Thanks a lot guys :)

Have a look at the powerplay profiles..one of em does a discount on imperial ships in their controlled space I'm virtually certain. For discounted outfitting I think Li Yong space does 15% off.

I made mine into a battering ram after watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-9yeg6oLds and it works epicly in RES zones XD http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=703,7Px7Px7OX7OX3we0_g0_g0_g,319Y9Y7_8S9Y8S6k,7Vs0AA7go7go4zM7fE7dg9qm

Edit: If you want a serious setup, the Distributor is a little weak (I have come from a conda so not shooting forever feels weird :p) So I would run 4 Pulse lasers (Gimballed due to the wide spread) or 2 Pulses and 2 Multicannons/Regular cannons, if using for combat (Which I would recommend) You want a minimum of 7D shields with 2 or 3 boosters (Will give you around 300MJ) and this ship lives due to the speed so grab A thrusters when you can (Can hit 440 no issue)

Edit 2.0: Just realized you were asking about discount locations not outfitting ideas...Derp.. Going to leave my comment incase you are curious on outfitting anyway. Enjoy the Clipper, its a great ship (And whoever put it down as 2 agility needs to be checked)

Have they fixed that yet? It wasn't working last week. If they have fixed it Clippers are for sale in Wong Guin (A Patreus control system).

The entire LHS 3447 System has a 20% discount on ships and outfitting. So go get your parts there ;)
(Not sure if they have the clipper though, but I doubt it)

Heh :) 140m... I can dream about that set up :)

I will get the 4 gimballed pulse lasers though, sounds like a good plan :) Thanks for the post :)

wow I thought you were kidding... it has a python, federal drop ship and Type 9 at 20% discount

Yup. And a load of parts. The 3 stations have different parts and ships, so it's worth checking out all of them. I exchanged all my more expensive ships for 20% off versions including parts. Only my Vulture has 4 parts "only" 10% off, but it's only 800k insurance now even though it's completely outfitted. Just rebuying everything there made me around 8million, not to speak of reduced insurance awesomeness :D

Is this a permanent discount or is it just for a limited time? Also does any of the stations have a Fer-de-Lance?

I honestly don't know if it's permanent, but I hope so. I'm currently saving up for a Python as fast as possible just in case. I'm not sure, i can't remember having seen one, but I wouldn't take my memory as guarantee.

Oooh interesting... If I buy something somewhere else for 5million, like a power plant, I can come there and sell it for my original 5 million and then buy theirs with 20% discount for 4 million? Or do I need to sell mine somewhere else first and then come buy it?

Thanks for the tips btw, much appreciated :)

You need to sell it. log out for 10 mins, then log in and buy the discounted one. If you just try to sell then rebuy the same module right away, you will get your own recently sold module as choice.

Yes that's exactly how it works HOWEVER you need to work around a little, since there is the rebuy option for parts. So, when you sell your parts they "overwrite" the ones which are cheaper as long as yours are offered as rebuy.
If you have enough money to completely make your ship a second time, simply buy the new ship, equipp it completely and only then sell the parts and the ship itself of your old one. Afterwards you can rebuy the parts that they didn't have in stock on any of the stations.

If you don't have enough money, sell your parts in one station, buy the new ship, sell the old one, then fly to the next station and relog. This clears the rebuy and will allow you to buy the cheap parts in all 3 stations. But as said make sure that you will find all necessary parts in the stations, otherwise rebuy them before resetting.

Hope that made sense :p If not I'll try to explain it again x)

Currently playing the around with a clipper myself. Kinda suffering from not having enough money to kit it out properly but then again the biggest npc ships I see in RES's post 1.3 are pythons..

My setup so far has been a little haphazard, I found some gimballed c3 beams in sol running them and c2 multicannons.
The beams eat power and churns out heat so almost considering putting on a heat sink, but burst use is fine.
The multicannons use so little power my wep's recharge during sustained fire with just 2 pips in them.
In short fun stuff.
