Devs Are people too..

Devs are dogs on a leash to the designers and bosses. Remember that.

There are hierarchies of what decisions are made.

Devs just put those decisions into action via code/art/sound.

If you are going to place blame don't blame the devs.

This is the price we pay for free and easy mass communication.

Indeed.
We live in a strange world where comments made by a sociopathic 14 year old are treated with some validity just because they are on a tweet or a forum, dimwitted Z list reality TV stars are revered more than Picasso and narcissism is a social media norm.
Human race has always been largely deplorable, it's just easier to perceive these days.

Human race is often deplorable.

I like you.

I do not accept that price. Speak up. If someone says something you don't agree with, say so. There's no need to be obnoxious you can object and still be polite. One thing that won't change anything is just accepting it as the way that it is.

Criticism does not have be mean or rude.
We are defined by our actions and words.
Even if people hide behind the internet curtain and barf melena (google it..) at strangers, they themselves know they said this cr*p; this is part of their definition of themselves now, even if friends and family don't know this part of them.
I just wonder how some people can actively choose to be like this. Maybe we never should have left the caves, and just stuck to taking care of primary and secondary needs; tertiary needs screw us up as a species. At least back then, when we cracked somebody's skull in, we did it to their face.

I pity those GW2 devs, I really do. They had as much say in the corporate price decision as the gamers had: none. Still, I am a part of that backlash there. Not with words, but with my wallet. I was waiting for the day to prepurchse, but I'm not purchasing at all now.

Relative of mine works for a very well known games company in the UK. Recently told me his time there was one of the worst of his life, and that's without reading garbage spouted on forums by stupid idiots with a ridiculous sense of entitlement..

You want us to shoot pet kittens at the devs? ;)
And here is another rep for you, cmdr! :D
..or would have been if I haven't already recently given you one...

Yes yes yes and yes. Let's stop shooting fire at the devs, and instead pet kittens.

People put their passion in to their creative work. Sometimes that comes out as a masterpiece, sometimes it comes out like kindergarten hand paintings. Right now Elite is still sizing the canvas. Long way to go.

Give the Boys and Girls at Frontier the respect they deserve. Criticise, politely and constructively. It will steer things medium to long term, just not short term. Game design seems to be a big tanker so turning the ship is a slow process. Sometimes it might need full throttle to get where you want to go instead of turning around and heading in the other direction. Only the game designers and producers know what that direction is.

Elite isn't perfect right now, anything the devs are bringing in can be ignored or taken up by those in game now. In my mind there is very little harm done.

Devs- Chin up, engage with the community as much as possible. MB Explained some of the thinking in his Dev update, and, it makes sense.

Me, well i just wish i had more time to play PP, CQC, buy an XBONE, VR kit, 6DOF chair buttkicker etc, so i have to time and almost plan what i am going to do in game. I get why players are peeved with the updates. Problem is we need to learn to share our toys. As an only child i HATE sharing my toys. I am learning.
