I'm a cherry picker for sure. But I always scan the main star and bodies within a reasonable distance (~1kls) unless they are peasant icy/rocky nobodies that typically orbit the brown dwarfs. Unless they are far enough out to break orbit records, of course. Otherwise, I will go any distance for a water/earthlike/ammonia world and certain, interestingly colored/sized/ringed giants and whatnot.

I probably average about 2-3 per system, but I will have to wait until I finish my current expedition to say for sure.

1.5, I switch between tourist and scan frenzies.

Case in point: Trip to crab, was eager to reach it so that was go all the way.

On the way back, leisurely picking one system at a time to hop to, and scan if it's nice.

edit: Hmmm, since systems visited update right away, and scans only when sold, that number will go up.

I prefer a thorough style...it's slow....but...I'm in NO hurry to return to the foolishness and vain glory of The Bubble. I've averaged about 8 scans per system during my voyage to the Galactic Rim.

3.1 for me.

It's a been mixture of scanning like mad and then doing 30 jumps without scanning.

A lot of the time I'll ping 35 objects and it'll all be asteroid fields and ice and rock. Other times I'll ping and the one that looks like a water world or earth-like will be 100,000ls away, late night and I want to finish the route I've plotted.

Other times I'll hang out, scan everything that doesn't look like rock and ice.

No idea what my total scans are as i have more class 2 than class 3 scans, but saying class 2 is the right total, i have around 0.3 objects scanned for each system.
That seems to be just right (I usually just honk and leave)

mine is around 3.5 at the moment but I have about 500 systems of unsold data from my current trip...

I tend to scan everything on the MOST PART... right now its nearing a month out and i have not passed 2K LY from sol yet and I am only just now starting to get a bit selective when it comes to systems with mostly icy or rocky in them... Maybe I will see out the rest of this week and try to reach my target nebula then head back for a break from the black...

I tend to explore using economical route once I am outside of the heavily explored belts...

Level 2 would be scans without Detailed Surface Scanner and Level 3 those with Detailed Surface Scanner.
Technically, Level 3 should be higher for nearly all players - but the figures remain a tad buggy. At least they're not reading continously 0 since they did since Release ;)

the only reason I ask is because of . . . .

Erm, does the detailed scans only update after selling since im currently at 0.11? Although this may well be right, I am deffo a tourist/racer type :)
My current unsold data however covers about 3000 systems since I was on about 3700 visited when I left on my current trip.

Profit (pre-current trip): 37,542,521
Visited: 6650
Level 2 scans: 95
Level 3 scans: 647

I usually scan easy to reach "rares" only, neutron stars, black holes, and earth-likes as well as interesting water- or metal-worlds. Did you know that information about a single earth-like world in a blackhole/neutron binary system isn't worth one cent extra?

I forgot: 7980 systems visited so far, 7550 scans, so below 1.0

Last time I dumped data I was sitting a little under 2.5 objects per system. I'm sitting on around 800 unsold systems at the moment and imagine it will go down as I've been opting for the cherry picking method since jumping into the exploration CG.
