Where will they appear??

There seems to be a lot of talk about Aliens particularly the Thargoids of late, I for one think it's great as look forward to seeing them, but still believe it's not just yet (heres hoping I am wrong).

Anyway, I never played the original game, but where did the Thargoids originate from in the galaxy back then?

AFAIK they live in Witchspace which is kinda the anti-hyperspace :D or, more accurate, a parallel hyperspace.

I was hoping they had a home solar system, was this the case in the original?

Then a map with Thargoid controlled space like the PowerPlay could be used, which grows as more is discovered about them and shrinks as humans encroach on them...or vice versa

OP: MY first experience of Thargoids was during just another trade or mission run, I don't remember which. I fire up the jump drive and jump, then I drop out of hyperspace, witchspace, whatever you call it between stars and they pretty much execute me on the spot... and I was kitted to fight too! Made absolutely no difference. Under the definition of the word "aggression", you will find a single word: "Thargoid".
.
It was a rude awakening. Don't hope for them too much to spice things up. A lot of people won't like it when it happens. All I ever really learned about them was to HATE them! Where they came from was irrelevant... I wanted them DEAD.... ALL OF THEM!
.
OF course, in these modern times where sensibilities are so delicate and people must have their hands held ever so tenderly, the Thargoids may be watered down and pose little threat.... but if that happens, I will uninstall E:D on the spot and walk away. Some folks around here DESERVE to meet them as some of us knew them... and in the very same way... with no warning whatsoever.

There is a rumoured planet called 'Soontill' where the Thargoids had their greatest technological archievements. Supposedly somehow they lost the planet and its coordinates, and it has become an el dorado of sorts.

If this was integrated into powerplay it would be awesome, maybe Starship One is actually being held by the Thargoids :D All factions unite against the new threat :D

Looking on the bright side, being an explorer, I'll probably be far far away when they attack so I'm not too bothered - down side being that selling data afterwards might be tricky ;)
