Market vs the Global scale = useless - few suggestions... ? Plz opinion devs ?

Heya

Game was out for a long time now.

It leads me to believe that due to its crazy size the market implementation is pointless. I went to quite few worlds. There never was anything to buy on them. World is too big, too few players, the items in this game are just pointles...

My suggestion is to:

1 Link up every station with each other.
2 This way we can buy/sell stuff from entire universe
3 Implement a delivery charge for automatic transportation of items from 1 station to another.
4 Implement a time delay for items to be delivered
5 Implement a Priority delivery that delivers the goods in less time - a lot less
6 Implement an insurance for each delivery method - for reasons listed below:
7 Make the delivery ships spread in to 3 types:

A. Automatic NPC delivery - that can be pirated
B. Automatic NPC delivery - priority - that runs with escort and its difficult to pirate
C. A user based quest so that people can pick up the jobs and deliver them and get the Credits.

This would build up a nice economy in game. People could get nice gear from pirating as well as make lots of money from delivering. World will feel a lot more connected and the use of markets will actually exist.

Now its just waste of game resources and servers...

What do you guys think?

I do not quite understand what the point of the game would be then in this case?

You can as it is now, quite easily filter out systems and find the systems with most likely resources with the map, just filter the economy type and the population size, removing the low population systems that often have poor or limited items?
Find place that supplies something, find place that needs that, often with the use of the ingame market that tells you where export and imports are from, profit?

I wanted to buy lasers to my viper yesterday. Jumped around 6x before I give up. I also have only 12 y jump range

Just because some people like exploring and checking area stuff dont mean every 1 else also like. Its stupid system. I wanna blow stuff up. Not discover new boring words.

Gotta say this forum is so toxic and full of people who love the game as it is that its pain in the ass to even bother suggesting anything.

I should have just asked for refund and waited for No Mans Sky or Eves Valkyrie. This game is waste of time and money.

I agree with OP, market data should be shared across the galaxy. With galnet in our ships and wings comms that span the galaxy there is no longer a valid lore reason for this to not be done. however I dont' think there should be an NPC delivery system. Players should be able to buy something remotely but have to travel to retrieve it.

You're talking about ordering parts from Outfitters to be delivered correct?
As opposed the commodities market

Talking about all sales/purchases really. We could even have some more options to it, Resale of modules with tied down spec to specific ship. For example:

I buy laser, mount on Viper. Now when I sell it it will only fir other Viper.

Some items disabled from NPC/quest transport etc etc.

I don't think you've done any trading. Commodities market is the menu where you can see the market where there are goods to trade. Not the outfitting menu where you equip your ship, neither the shipyard, where you buy ships.

What you want to search for is large population high tech worlds. You can set filters on the map to see only those worlds, so you can go directly there and buy the weapons you need.

I did, I spend like 2h flying around. Its long when u have 12y jump range. At the end of the day I went back empty handed.

What lasers are you looking for exactly? If you find a station whose description says "wealthy, large population high tech / whatever economy" then it should have all class 2 weapons.

I dragged my slider of population to 90% of scale. Then I went to that system and check all stations. Had ships had some modules. Did not have any weapons that I find good for my fit.

Bottom line is the sale/buy system and location of items is inefficient.

I don't believe that. Even if you went to a feudal agriculture system, at 90% population filter it should have at least some missiles and cannons. Also at 90% scale you probably won't find any high tech systems - there's not enough food produced to supply such a high population there.

It's not made to be efficient. It has it's complexity. You need to see how these worlds work & their economies tie together - not much, as if you were trading - just a little bit. If you want to buy tech, go to a tech system - that's the gest of it.

Was it a High Tech World or just the closest one with the 90% on the Population scale, as alot of the Big Pop places are Garden Worlds?

Well where did you look for lasers? the amount of places that have them for viper is enormous, so it is a bit surprising to me that you couldn't find them?

I went to Anlave. 4 Bilion people Hi tech. Checked all stations. The best small laser it had was the one I already had. Which was like 12 k cr
