No such thing as 'too soon'. It's not well enough defined that someone can't claim it's 'too soon' for themselves subjectively 20 years after the fact. My question is, how many people on this forum actually knew him personally to be legitimately offended/distressed by this? The answer is probably zero. I saw a random name the other day that was identical to a friend of mine who died in a surfing accident when we were teenagers. Yet if I came on here asking that name to be removed from the game, I'd be ridiculed because he's not famous and his death didn't make large-font front page headlines. No, you aren't offended so stop pretending to be.
Not entirely. Some backers were allowed to submit names for the NPC database, and apparently FD wasn't too worried about using celeb names in their games, so you end up with something like this when the RNG hit the right combo.
It's not like they designed the mission to specifically have his name. It could just as easily been Barry Obozo or someone else who had their name submitted.
Had to google him.... I suspect most at FD have no idea who he is either. ..
