And again the same

It doesnt matter, it is P2P instanced game, you play with max 31 other players on one of many 32 player instances. You can be in 1 system in open and 15 000 other players at the same time at the same system and you wont be able to see them.
Solo works like just another instance.

ask for change in architecture and moving ED to servers, then whine about solo

The struggle within PP is done through the systems built into it. There is no direct PvP involved. But, most of all, your argument has no basis. How can you support your claims?

If this thread goes very far it will get merged.....

While your right, I'm yet to see a 32 player instance, ever lol, I think 15-20 has to be the maximum even at lugh or yembo never seen numbers like that anywhere else, the fact remains that instance issues aside players in instances, even not your own, can be found at some point, players in solo cannot.

What about the solo players who're supporting your goals then and are not opposing them ?
You have any numbers that document you're suffering more than you're benefiting from solo players ?

Powerplay is a group game not a solo game.

Huh? Is there space battles now? REAL ONES?

asif...

Yes, loads going on between Empire and Feds, been in loads, get out of solo and you will see it. :)

I think there is some merit (no pun intended) to consider some changes to the current system.

To start I really like the opportunities and potential strategies for PowerPlay, and potential for interesting things like Fifth Columns within factions looking to prepare less statraegically or economically viable planets and starting wars in the name of a faction etc. I do worry that this is impossible to detect or do anything about as a faction if it happens outside open, whereas within open you can inform your own faction and asking them to consider prep-ing elsewhere (and if necessary a kind word and a 2by4, if the kind word doesn't work on its own!).

However, I think its perferctly reasonable for commanders who wish to avoid risk of pvp to be able to gain merits in Solo and Private, just the impact on the overall influence should be limited. My personal suggestion would be to increase the goal targets, but give a mulitplier to the impact of combat merits *edited from credits doh* for each day a player has been in open play only (ie 2 days = double effect per merit handed in, up to say a maximum of say 7 or 10 days). That way solo players can still grind merits, but there is a significant benefit to the factions goals to stay in open (but no dis-benefit to the individual player of not, and also stops people popping into open just to hand in then disappear back to solo).

PVP is on going daily i seen it been in them, get out of solo and you will see it.

I think you have look at the way PP is designed. I don't see a PvP element in it at all. That's to overcome the fact that we have a flexible system. Trying to shoehorn your PvP desires in will only end in frustration.

Which of the three functions in PP require you to stop other players? Each function is built on head to head PvE actions. It is your desire, alone, not PP mechanics that causes this kind of reaction.

Read all the Reddit pages set up for all the factions, every day each one describes PVP activity in abundance every day.

Where would you put all the Solo players? Delete them all?

No, they got Elite normal play.

That is what is called Meta gaming. I'm not talking about what players get themselves up to. I'm talking about how the actual game mechanics are designed. Each of the three functions (Expansion, Fort/Under, Prep) are all PvE actions. The only way to affect the system is through those means.

Great idea! why FD should care about anti-solo thread? MOVE IT ALL TO ONE BLACK HOLE!
80% players don't want solo. 18% don't care...

FD can delete solo and to alive . But why? Let people rage in one never watched by devs thread!

Good play FD, good play...

I have nothing against solo players, just give them their own space not with ours. After all they don't want to play with those who play in Open so what is the big issue?
