Wings / Comms / Multiplayer and potato routers

As was mentioned in another thread, FD Devs made a request for people with multiplayer wing/chat issues to send them bug reports.

Here is the thread. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=160601

Would all of you experiencing issues with winging up, sending comms, or seeing other players please send in bug reports as the devs have requested.

I think this may may lead to development of the locally installed client looking for other local clients and setting up automatic portage - which would be a HUGE help for many people!

Still, don't use a potato for a router ;)

Thanks for this. Sooo many instancing, wings, comms issues that need to be addressed. I was not aware these were 'bug-reportable', as they are so frequent.

+1 Thanks Asp. I hope anyone playing in Open is participating. If you notice Combat logging send in your networking info as the Devs ask and they can do something about the problems in case its something different, which I suspect. Lord know most every CMDR out there has more honor than the forums may suggest. I may have to bump this thread daily, as long as it gets us some sweet fixes. :)

EDIT to be on the safe side I replaced the potato with a squash.

Until the core functionality, the mechanical fundamentals of the engine are fixed, sending in details and insisting FD spend time on combat loggers is a pretty selfish thing to do. Sort out being able to actually join wings and play in the same instance as your wing first, actually being able to connect to the game in the first place, then spare all the energy to worry about those mean people logging out of the game.

uh, this isn't about combat logging, its about fixes to the instancing, which some think is combat logging, but is actually 'the mechanical fundamentals' you are talking about. :)

lol, bah, nm, I read that all wrong >.<

I think I probably read yours wrong too. When I read 'combat logging' it's taken in context of people forcibly disconnecting rather than the random vanishings of bad connectivity. Anyway, carry on with sending in the logs about instancing!
