Future Crimes Division?

I might be being really dense, it happens frequently, but not sure what happened last night.

I took a mission to retrieve artifacts etc etc, so obviously illegal once the items are scooped up.

However, I jumped to the appropriate system and started looking for signal sources as usual only to be interdicted by security. Being the mostly law abiding federal citizen I am, I submitted and throttled down waiting for the scan. I was clean at this point, no fines or bounties in the system and an empty cargo hold. It was an Anarchy system and within my powers jurisdiction.

To my surprise I got a shout of "Criminal!" over coms from the security viper followed by some "good news" delivered in laser form. Slightly confused I dispatched the security viper and carried on.

Are security now in receipt of 'minority reports' and attacking commanders before they even start smuggling missions, or an I missing something?

Do you have a bounty in another system bc if yes the Viper prolly used a KWS and then decided to off you bc money and no repercussions ( being in an anarchy sys and all )

This is not necessarily a bug. It's possible that the cops got a tip off. And we all know how the justice system in the Elite Galaxy works. I would still suggest you get a Mod to move this thread over t the bug-reporting thread.

No, I was clean as a whistle. No bounties anywhere.

Very odd, I'll try a similar mission and see if it happens again. It was definitely contrived, as there were no ships on scanner when in SC then I got interdicted.
