Galnet war update !

So GalNet has an war update , and that is super cool , however there is one issue with it.
The news kills immersion by explaining game mechanics without pretending to be in universe...

I think the best way around this is to have an in game pilots guide were this things are explained so that the news about wars zones can be just that updates on areas instead of teaching what we allready know

Yes I do , I like the idea a lot... but when I watch the news in real life they dont end it with ''and its the team who kill the most dudes who wins'' I just think that was a bit silly

Actually....

True story.

Say thanks to super moans during all this period of time about how game doesnt explain itself. FD just caved in as to be frank I can live with that but other players fear unknown mechanics.

Definitely a step in the right direction. I hate wandering aimlessly trying to find a CZ.
So this is a temporary fix for that, works fine. Some day, FD will figure a better way to do it but right now this is perfect.

I hope I dont sound like I am moaning its just I got elite during beta because it seemed like the ultimate immersion based game.
the ingane explainations are still in universe but are getting more and more out of universe and I am scared they start using the term ''game'' and ''player''

Maybe it's worth to raise this point to FD QA and community guys? I agree its worrying trend.

I actually like this.

I just wish it would have heatmaps and actually the ability to SORT the galaxy map by known conflicts and then by factions meaning alliance, fed etc.. So if I want to go fight for or against someone I can just peruse and go there.

Today's players don't have time for immersion, discovery, travelling or any of that guff. Give us instant arenas and a list of action hot spots. Busy, busy, busy. So many players to kill, so little time...

What would people think if all the useful information on how to play the game was moved over to a wiki? Gets a +1 from me.

Ever since Community Goals was introduced ingame as 'Community Goals', I feel the importance of immersion has taken a back seat over the game trying to explain itself. PP is terrible in this regard.

Yeah, this is my own issue with PP. I like to follow it, and I like how's power ethos are defined, even leaders themselves seems to be reasonably fleshed out (for space sim that is). However numbers everywhere makes me itchy :( I have no huge problems with it, but it feels a bit saddening to say at least. I am trying to gather some visual feedback so it wouldn't feel so jarring. I think it can be improved a lot - and it will be.
