The missing fog in Zaonce might be due to procedural generation taking over?
I hadn't thought of that. I will go check out some other rings. Thanks.

"We're aware of this and looking into it"
Horrible people
So telling
Literally Hitler. Yeah he used to say stuff like that.
Hey Hitler are you invading Poland?
"We're aware of it. We're looking into it"
Oh Hitler is this because of the Xbox?
Gotta make it run on the Xbox One somehow, ... sigh.
It is very disappointing to see these kinds of things. There are a lot of things that have gotten uglier since the Beta.

Man you like to push you analogies a long way don't you! Sounds like you will be rounding up people with such opinions sooner or later...![]()
That honestly made me laugh out loud![]()
Hasn't this probably got something to do with the shader check at the start of the game?
It's because it's Friday. This is the day we traditionally go to far on this forum. Like that time we compared Star Citizen vs Elite Dangerous to Space Raiders crisps.
That's a game I would actually play! Crisp shaped ships! Those would sell like hot-cakes on the Store (well more like crisps probably).
Is that shader check an option in a config file ?
As an experiment if you're experiencing stuttering that has gotten worse in 1.3 try disabling the shader warming.
You can disable the shader caching on startup by editing your AppConfigLocal.xml file:
<PlanetNoiseTextures
ShaderWarmingEnabled="0"
/>
Does that make any difference?

I just wanted to add this in here, as it highlights the issue pretty well:

It's seems every major patch, I end up posting about how the Ring systems get a graphical downgrade. This has happened consistently since late Beta. (For some reason I'm also the only one that seems to care all that much about this.)
So what gives? The ring systems look pretty awful in my screenshots above. I'm just heading out to check some ice ones...
EDIT: As a comparison here is how they looked in Alpha. And to clarify, I'm not comparing the close up details of the asteroids themselves...I'm actually comparing the level of detail in the distance. Look at how they used to transition into the distance compared to now. In this screenshot it's only in the far distance that the LOD starts having issues...

They don't reply in 95% of they threads (or thereabouts)...so no, this doesn't mean anything.![]()
