For some 'respect' means to be feared; for others to be not offered help: and so on.
It seems that one of the most disrespectful things one can say to another is: 'I don't believe you'.

I know you are joking Patrick, but it's a real move to go with that meme. A nasty rhetorical tactic used by social conservatives is to draw = marks between homosexuality and things like pedophilia and bestiality. I hope you are not one of those people :(

No, I'm not one of those people who make amalgams. However regarding same-sex marriage, I wonder if the Thargoids have this kind of practice.

My biggest thing with this was always that in "The Universal Declaration of Human Rights", it specifically states in Article 16 "Men and women of full age, without any limitation due to race, nationality or religion, have the right to marry and to found a family. They are entitled to equal rights as to marriage, during marriage and at its dissolution."

Last time I checked, gay men and women are still men and women.

I can't wait till someone sues to marry their son or daughter so that when they pass one of their kids will get their retirement benefits for the rest of their lives.

As usual , SCOTAS haven't thought about other 'consequences' to a decision....

People are now saying the decision (because it's worded generally and not specificially to same-sex marriage) can now be applied to things like the law governing carring a hidden weapon for example, which is allowed in some states..but not in others.....but NOW....applying this ruling....they cannot be stopped from carrying a hidden weapon in ANY state...

Little interest in US gun policy personally and only a general interest in US domestic policy as it affects others, but be interested to see a source of those claims.

Makes no difference. The Supreme Court of the US has clearly established that it no longer has any regard for the legislature or the Constitution. The current President led the way and they now follow. There is no rule of law any more. Every issue going forward will be decided by the media's ability to sway popular opinion. there is no rational way to predict future rulings on any issue.

On guns - expect them to overturn the 2nd amendment. It's what the media wants.
