Ship Builds & Load Outs My PvE Anaconda build

I thought I'd share my Anaconda build for your viewing pleasure.
I find it gives me the best balance between playing for fun and effectiveness in grindy endeavors.
My playstyle is solo PvE, it involves trading and smuggling while doing missions to gain naval ranks and permits.

What the build is good for: trading, BB missions, assassinations(!)
What it is not good for: extended RES/CZ farming, PvP

Q: Why the double plasmas and 6 multicannons?
A: 1. The Huge PA is awesome, I must have it. 2. The class 3 and 4 hardpoints at the bottom have good convergence, I can hit small ships with both PAs easily. It is most satisfying to one-shot the confused AI pirates in their Eagles who keep interdicting me. I don't have time for their crap, I have 400 tons of slaves to deliver, you know!
Also during assassinations I can usually surprise the target with two quick double shots from the PAs, then switch to 4 SYS and 1 or 2 WEP and fire the multis forever. Plus multicannons sound great!

Q: Why no pulse lasers? They have the best Damage per Energy! Snipe powerplants like no tomorrow!
A: I used to be a min-maxer like you, then I took a cancer to the ear from the constant pewPEWpewPewPEWpew.

Q: Why the 7A PP and PD?
A: 1. 8As are too expensive and heavy 2. I can share the 7As with my Python when I fancy some RES or CZ combat.

Q: You can't use the shield cell bank with weapons deployed.
A: In extended fights with multiple tougher opponents I switch off one of the plasmas after the initial strike.

Q: Why carry an interdictor? You are losing ~4% profit on each trading run!
A: I like to look for high ranked wanted NPCs during my trading runs and blast them for extra fun. Extra fun >> 4% profit

Q: Docking Computer? Learn to fly space dust!
A: Yes I am lazy, sue me. Actually I prefer to boost into the slot, then emergency brake and let the DC find the pad. I rarely use it to do the full sequence as it just wanders around too much outside of the station.
 
I'd swap the 7A PP for an 8B one, yea it's a lot heavier (you lose 1LY range) but the 3MW increase for 4m credits means you can run all weapons and boosters online..

I'd like to do that, the problem is that my trading route requires 17.2 Ly range, so it would add an extra jump both ways which is too much lost time for a small convenience gain.

What are the placement of the guns like to run a gimballed setup with fixed PACs, is it easy to hit the targets?
I always presumed half of the mounts would need to be Turreted, when i was last beta'ing the battleconda i had full turreted beams, my live Conda is just loaded for trade no weapons.

Well, it certainly requires more maneuvering than turrets, so not exactly easy mode. But with a quick FA OFF turn I can get anyone in front of me, and I don't need to follow them for long after that.

The PAs have quite fast projectile speed so it is not too hard to hit big ships while they are moving. Against small ships it is enough to hit them once before the fight starts when they are usually just standing in front of you for a few seconds.

To have all six multicannons hit, I have to keep the opponent just a little below my nose because of the placement of the small hardpoints at the bottom back of the ship. But if the smalls don't hit, it is not a big deal. There is nothing else I would want to put in the small slots really. I like that there is only two different projectile velocity of my weapons and so I see only two target leading circles, one for PAs one for MCs. I tried equipping all cannons once and it was terrible, slow projectile speed and all 4 sizes seem to have different speed or something because I ended up with 4 different target leading circles.

Maybe one thing I could change is to put dumbfire missiles on the small hardpoints. I think I will try tonight how they work in this setup. Moar explosions are always welcome.
 
I just bought my Conda or 117mil, and traded without insurance until i had my exploration build finished. No need to have weapons because the interdiction game is very easy in a Conda.

Disclaimer: dont fly without insurance!!
