Are we going to see lots on it soon? Videos, screenshots, personal pleadings!!? Funding seems to have slowed down to a dead stop lately. Getting a little concerned that all of this will be for nothing. Why all the silence?

well i think that the imidiate rush has run out of steam and people like me are holding on to their cash till there is something to actually see...

lots of text and vague promisses is all there is on the kickstarter so far, compare this to star citizen which actually has a tech demo, screens and concept drawings...

Not to mention people keep saying

"but, but, the screens behind David in the bbc interview show elite footage."

Do they though? Has it been confirmed to be actual Elite footage or just something fancy pre rendered to get everyone excited. The fact that it has now been 3 days and if those really were screenshots and real elite game videos, then why have they not been uploaded to kickstarter to help with funding and prove that they are serious? To me those screens could just be fancy screensavers or something cool that was knocked up in an afternoon to make the monitors look useful in the background

Yeah, I think we are all pretty much feeling the same here.

Please please please, Mr. Braben and co., we want this project to work. We're behind you, but we feel that you have to get more out there to make the kickstarter campaign work.

Yes we know that you produced products that were revolutionary and hugely enjoyable in the past. We believe in you. But the long wait and (from what some are saying on the forums) previous disappointments are things that will stop people giving until there is a credible proof of concept which we can see. I know that fans will always want more, but how about this....

To all you forum members out there... Realistically, what do we need to see in the next couple of weeks to commit to supporting this? Some people will have already committed to kickstarter based on the old games and David's reputation alone (I'm one of them), but what's it going to take for those on the fence?

Video footage of a ship being flown?

Screenshots of ships, space environment, planets and stations?

Video of an in game combat scenario?

I'd like to see comments from others on this.

I definitely think there needs to be some video and screenshots on both the kickstarter page and the game page (not limited to forums).

Come on guys!!!

Yes some video of some early alpha build would be good, remember the fans are now taking over the role of a publisher you need to pitch this game with some actual content. It needs to be sold it will not do so by itself.

Yes, come on surely you must realise that we need some screenshots and video Stat!

Hell you guys made over 25% of your target in ONE DAY thanks to the old school fans who have kept the faith these long years.

I think getting a few pics and a short video is not too much to ask.

Considering Star Citizen has just been revealed its possible that ED isn't of a high enough quality yet to satifisfy close inspection through screenshots and videos. Might also explain why we only see it running in the background of the BBC interview.

I'm a little concerned that Mr Braben isn't using the Kickstarter Updates to address the whole community. It would at least ease some of this doubt that's cropping up.

Yes I've been a bit worried about the lack of communication so far, The fact that Ashley (Admin) has been posting a bit and addressing some issues was a big relief but we've still not heard anything about the actual game which is odd since they say they have a working game engine.

I would of thought just posting the videos that were running in the background of the BBC interview would allay most of the sceptics.

KS Drives are about communication which we're had precious little of so far with this one.

Come on Dave show us some goodies!

I can only agree, something has to be done, the sooner the better. In fact, it should have been done already before starting the kickstarter. Even if you don't have an alpha build, at least get some concept artworks and design sketches out there. Without my childhood memories I wouldn't have invested, simple.

Edit: You don't even have explanations for the different tiers you offer. It's like putting a second box of the same game in the shops that says "Elite Founder Version" and costs quite a lot more without explaining what it actually does. This is unacceptable for customers.

And how about you make a feature list to put up on kickstarter? Sigh.

Star Citizen looks bloody amazing, mate! I want Elite 4 to feature some of that - some walking around in spaceports, and definitely proper cockpits for the spacecraft. Just having a radar screen upfront might have flown in 1995, but now in 2012, I expect to feel like I'm actually in a spacecraft cockpit - at least as far as visuals are concerned!

I've just checked the site, and progress has indeed come to a shuddering halt. It needs to pick up, if it maintains this rate, I don't know if it'll make it. They need to bribe some more of the rich fans out there with more of the dinner level offers.

I think demanding much more then a pitch for far less then 30 bucks is insane.
If you realy bleed to support this game like a 1000 and its a month salery. Okay you better be sure. But game funding is always a gamble.
This is a dev studio wich is a long time around and has many titles on there CV.
So for bit funding pitch is enough. For whole lotta funding wel its not.

I aint no fan. But pitch is enough for me up to € 150,-.
Past €250 I would like to see more, past €500,- i need to see more.

But I have no CC.

@ Dan Hughes - the new networking approach (already working) allows us to offer the best of single and multi-player seamlessly, the plan is that it both is a great single-player experience and delivers vast scale for multiple players.

:) :) :)
