So, who is the Alliance President?

And no I don't mean Edmund Mahon

Newsletter number 22 stated
"The Independent Alliance is culturally very varied and its leadership, which involves a presidency which moves annually between member systems, has been described as ‘challenging;"

The Right Honourable Edmond Mahon is the Prime Minister and has been for many consecutive years

So will we get Introduced to the Alliance President at any stage?

And is the Alliance Presidency a Symbolic Figurehead for a Parliamentary Republic or does it a semi-Presidential system where the President has executive power. I think the Former as it was Prime Minister Mahon that spoke on the Alliance's position during the Lugh Crisis.

I wouldn't worry about it, it looks like the Alliance drew the short straw in Powerplay anyway.

Based on that information it seems that the Alliance would be ripe for leadership change. I wonder if that means that Gateway would no longer be the home system.

Yeah, the Alliance has so many high tech systems, but yet they can't produce a ship or equipment of their own. I personally think this needs to change. How many new Federation or Imperial ships does FD need to add before the Alliance can develop one of their own?

The Alliance seems to get very little FD love.

Even in 3301 buying COTS is probably more cost-effective than developing your own technology.

Ships are off topic per se, but the Alliance has its own In house Shipyard from Frontier First Encounters
Argent Aerodynamics Amalgamated Inc (AAAI)

AAAI are the biggest shipyard in the Alliance, and have created many new ships, including the Saker Mk 3. They are based at New Rossyth in Alioth

The alliance is a alliance of independent systems.
Designing and producing ships would take funds.
Funds would come from taxes witch the independent systems are unwilling to cough up.
And rightfully so... What's the point?
None of the fed only ships are any better than any freely available ship.

Dono about the battleships though.

Well this shows people are more interested in "What ships the Alliance ought to have" rather than their political structure
Oh well
