Favorite Ship Sound

My favourite sound is when another ship hyperspace jumps away when you're right next to it.

I don't like my target escaping, but the bass of the sound really appeals to me.

This is LITERALLY the thing I was coming to say! Even though the Asp is a real tank of a ship, you feel like the Red Baron whilst piloting it.

Has anyone else noticed the ambient noises when docked at outposts?

I've had many including a manufacturing thump-thump-thump... a continual drone... and in one case what sounded oddly like The Prodigy being played either too loud or over the outpost's PA... THIS is the darn station I wanted the ability to exit my ship and walk about - I can only guess how good the party was!

It's way more in depth than that. There are ambiences based on not just proximity, but also on what you're pointing towards - so it's as if your ship's forward sensor array is organically interpreting its detected signals as audio to you in the cockpit. Outposts. Stations. Planets. Stars. Even the background radiation of the galaxy itself. Apparently there's some very scary chittering sounds from Ammonia worlds with ammonia-based life.
