The Xbox One Commander Diaries

Share your recent stories from the Elite-Verse on XB1. :D

Finally got some mining kit for my Cobra. It was....oddly relaxing. Just me, the star and several rocks nearby. I made smaller rocks out of the big rocks, some of them were scooped while others were collected for me (cos I can be lazy). Made 10,000 within a hour. Not the quickest way to make money especially for a 1st time miner like me but it was a welcome change from cargo runs.

I started out doing trade runs after selling the lasers on my Sidewinder. Finally saved up enough scratch for a Viper, to which I am adding bits here and there. I get to spend more time looking for the right fights now. Gosh, what a game.

Gosh, what a game.

Agreed, I struggle to see a point where I'll want to stop sinking hours in

Took out my first player bounty yesterday, not a whopping total but made for a great bit of combat! Managed to find a second wanted player too but his ship was too fast for me and he escaped after I interdicted him twice he managed to get away with 25% hull :(

I'm not confident enough to venture into the player-populated Eliteverse yet. Maybe someday.
lol, don't be! The water is warm.

I've played quite a bit since the XB1 release and I've only seen two CMDR's ever and none of us seemed interested in fighting. Honestly, I think open play population for XB1 is so small you risk nearly nothing in doing it.

I went to visit my brother just after he got his first Sidewinder at the starting port, I couldn't get in the same instance with, but I did get in one with another CMDR.. thought about blowing him for giggles but between getting a bounty on my head and just ruining someone else's play time.. I couldn't bring myself to do it.

The galaxy needs more CMDR's, Commander. Come on in!

I was interdicted by another CMDR. I scanned him, he scanned me. We were both harmless and clean. I flew off in one direction he in another. Was a good moment and bought a smile to my face that neither of us wanted to rumble.

If I get interdicted now its guns out and off we go. Don't bother scanning first. If you pulled me out you want to fight. Probably why I'm wanted and hostile and have a raft of fines and bounties behind me lol.

While I was bounty hunting in a RES Zone, I saw another CMDR, I didn't want to fight him, so I just sent him a message asking if we were "good". He replied with "yep", and we fought side by side killing the pirates. I was worried coming into the game that there would be a bunch of griefers, but it's been a good experience. Not what I was expecting to be honest.

I admit, I am flabbergasted at how great this forum community is, with the notable exception of myself, who keeps derailing this thread. More stories, you swabbies, you guys are inspirational.

Yeah, the community on the forums, and in game have impressed me. I'm always on the forums, but I usually just "lurk" and never contribute. It's due to toxic communities and other issues. Its different here and that is a welcome change.

Was smugling 34 tonnes of Battle Weapons when I got interdicted by an NPC Asp in my 2 medium Burst laser 1 large Cannon Diamondback Smugler(Explorer to most)....long story short dead Asp plus I was able to make cash on the weapons & his bounty(hefty 32k extra).

I too have been a forum lurker since gettin the game but felt compelled to join after seeing how great the community is.

A story: I've been smuggling goods to make my cash, quite profitable too. As you earn trader rank you get access to higher paid missions. Pulling in bout 1mil an hour :) filled my stealth mode hauler with illegal goods bound for the next system, travelled to the station with no worries, got inside the station without getting scanned then promptly hit boost by accident faceplanting the far side of the dock and my squishy no shield ship just crumpled.

Was put back to the original station having paid my insurance and then had to spend 20 mins trawling black markets for the illegal goods I was still contracted to deliver. Having found them all I made the delivery and still had some profit at the end!

Gotta complete the contract no matter what!

I've put an embarrassing amount of time in the xb1 version even more on the PC.

What I've experience..

PC.... Some ppl are talkative, most are not. Clans have formed. Some who do good deeds other who do not. Why I don't play it on PC anymore even though I'm a beta backed. Well after being hunted down many times, losing close to 100 mil, by players formed in a wing, while I'm in my python. Never have been wanted on PC. 4 ships shooting you will kill you fast. This became so common I stopped playing all together. Before power play. I have already heard that ppl are still doing this even with new bounty/crime rules. Its disappointing that ppl enjoy ruining others gaming experiences for the own interests.

Xb1... Ppl here seem to be more willing to party up and say hi. I have never been attacked by another player. Well I've killed some wanted players, but that's it. Yes they shot back. Many people don't respond in game text but I think many don't see this, or know how to respond. Over all I would say when the game stops crashing do not fear open play. On xb1 at least

There was a lot of talk among PC ed players about how our community would be in comparison to theirs. I have found so far they were wrong. The xb1 community has been great, and helpful, and have shown respect out in the black to their fellow commanders. This is a much more inviting community by far. Hope it stays this way.
