What a waste.

What a depressing waste of time and effort. I laboriously built up a reputation among almost twenty star systems to finally get decent shipping jobs at decent pay, but now this power has just rampaged into my back yard, bringing anti-business taxation, fines for nothing, and intolerant policies to pay for increased vigilantism (bounty hunters). A culture of hired goons and lawless bounty hunters - what a great prospect for the future of any people.

Couldn't even slow them down by running narcotics and weapons at HIP 21778. And the other "powers" were perfectly useless, or just plain impotent.

Nothing left to do but watch as they run roughshod over my home and all my work. All the economic prosperity I brought to my partners and their citizens is for naught now. Guess I'll just sell my other ships and run.

Rot in hell, you monsters. Rot in hell.
Can't be right? The normal forum despoilers will jump in and say that you can just ignore PP if you want. No clue.

Hi Cmdr Flavourless, I feel for you - think we will be in the same boat in a few weeks time.

Have you considered a career as a freedom fighter or terrorist? Sound like you are in the perfect area for that career change!

This is the horror I feel I am going to be facing soon. My home base and trade route are just outside "The Bubble" How long until they lay waste to me well maintained home...

Closely followed by the many people claiming that PowerPlay did nothing for the players not interested in the feature itself.

Oh...and don't forget about the people claiming that there is no "evolution of the Galaxy" at all...

:p

This is one of the reasons I like Powerplay...it will help shape the Galaxy and keep the players on their toes...you go away for a while and when you come back the Galaxy have moved on without you so you have to adapt! Great! :)

In the contrary! Those who said that PP is indeed interlinked with the rest of the game (in opposition to those who say there is no relation) come in and say: "See? I told you!"

Edit: must learn to type faster...

But you can ignore it , in PP factions do not take over systems but just exploit them so only the local economy will change.
as long as you dont join you will see and witness change but you as a person will never be afected by it (unless you count trade lane changes and other small effects)

That's bad luck there OP ..

Good for the game I think .. beacuse not allowing you to feel 100% settled .. but not for your local reputation or the effort put into that unfortunately. You'll obviously need to start again, but I suppose if you do that near centre of influence of a major power, hopefully less upheaval in future?

Damn the mafia(s)!!

Consolation repped.

Errr, what has been said that you don't have to take part in PP.

PP induced changes? Heck yeah. Finally. Ohhh your trade route gone sour? Guess what, adapt.
No, I must have the Sol Barnard Star route intact, robots are so lucrative! ... uh ... wait ... I'm playing FFE, there is no PowerPlay ... nevermind :D

EDIT: I'm basically echoing what Pecisk said, in FFE it got boring, but in ED it changes. Yes maybe it doesn't change how you want it, but that is actually a good thing, it forces you to adapt and find other ways to make money.

Ha ha, yes indeed CMDR Ross, we fought some rather good commanders from your faction last night at Kalana. Lots of fun. :D
