The Retributor - Small Beam-Laser (Mahon)

The Retributor.jpg

here you go (again) ... seems to come as a fixed variant, only

First test on some NPCs: nearly zero damage (mounted 4 beams!), heat buil up effect on enemy seems not to lethal (NPC) .. we need a player test :D

EDIT:
-only small size available
-only a fixed version
-draws power fast
-zero damage and heat build up against shielded targets
-around 15% heat build up against unshielded target per last and per 10sec
-heat damage is too low and negligible

Fazit: we all expected the module to be not very powerful, but in its current state is just plain useless.

prismatic shields are 2x the weight of a rank A generator and produce roughly 20% more shield hp. They also take significantly more power than a rank A.

I guess the question is do the stats make them superior to a shield + shield booster combo.

WOW. Double the weight and significantly more power draw than the current rank A generator for only 20% more shield hp?! That's equivalent to one type-A shield booster. Can't imagine this thing being any better than an A-type shield with 1 booster unless the Prismatic Generator overall weighs in less and has less power requirement than the current rank A + rank A shield booster...I guess we'll see (someone post stats for the different sizes plz!), but I have serious doubts.

Prismatic sounds odd.... given its the same as a single booster for more weight... can't see where we're gaining really other than i suppose giving an 'extra' boost slot .... but power consumption on certain ships is already marginal ... so struggling with it so far

Just from the description I'd say it gives more benefits to the multi-role ships (Dropship, Python, Clipper, Conda) that have the power to spare. Jump range is not normally needed anyway with combat orientated ships unless you are chasing players.

Also to check is if the 120% prismatic shield with a 20% A grade booster gives 140% shields or 144% since the combination of both could be interesting.
Total shield set up on Anaconda could be incredible!

The Imperial Hammer shows up in your weapon group HUD as "The Hammer". This makes it a required purchase.

I will be changing factions shortly. Excuse me... :D

Well if it's like you say then I guess the benefit is a higher cap on shield strength for a given hull.

Like say you had an Asp with all util slots devoted to boosters, well it's essentially +1 with a prismatic.

However I'd like to think that for a given sheild strength, the shield+booster combo might be higher overall mass, lower power draw. While the prismatic is higher overall power draw and lower mass.

This would make the Prismatic a really nice choice for say a Python.
