Just a quick aside, I have updated the first couple of posts, feedback appreciated.

I have also put up an appeal for additional pilots to assist in the search. I am seriously considering setting up a new reward fund, thoughts on that idea anyone?

If you do set up another reward fund, you can put me down for 1 million credits, easy. Let me know if you do decide to do this for certain. I've been searching for a UA for so long and have been so obsessed with it, I'm just ready to see the damn thing for myself at this point :D Until then, I'll keep hunting, too. Best of luck.

Just wondering for the Wiki page if people who have had the UA (even for a short time) would like their names put on it as people to go to for information or help with UA things? As I'm trying to add some things to the page from here so we have more details in the wiki page from the forums as (I dare say) we may fill up this thread to 10k posts....

Whilst I can see why putting up names of people that have helpt tremendously with UA's, I don't think the wiki is the right place to do so, especially not when it comes to objects within the game. It can be circumvented by quoting them though, but just keep in mind that the information they said has to be informative of the UA.

Sorry to be a bit negative!

Appreciated let's see how many others feel like chipping in.

I was lucky enough to see the first one "with my own eyes" Redwizzard was kind enough to sit and wait for me to reach him so I could be in the first screen shots.

One thing I would say that dosent quite come across as strongly in the YouTube clips, i have a reasonable PC and id swear it looked like it was "phasing" in and out of our dimension/galaxy/reality. That's why I always leaned toward thargoid or part thargoid.

That's interesting.

My crap unsubstantiated pet theory is that this is why it's damaging ships, it's relaying data into Witchspace.

Test to see if the ua acts like a scanner

http://www.twitch.tv/wishblend/c/6918035

Yes it does.

This one spells out HUMANA B 1 rather than UNEXPLORED (the clearest part without studying it hard is the "pause - dah dit dit dit - pause" near the end of the chittering (the letter B). The start of the H is hard to hear due to the honk, and the the numeral 1 fades in and out a little. I suspect the background noise from pointing towards the galactic centre didn't help, nor the apparent distance from the UA, but I can definitely confirm it is morse and spelling out the nearest body/object irrespective of the ship's scan.

EDIT: If we find a planet which spells out RAXXLA instead of its displayed name - run away :)

Okay though as I said my intention of putting them there was so people can go to them for information, but instead I'll do tips from them if any come forward though anyone can suggest edits to the wiki page.

You got an hour of silence. Not bad for a plastic artefact.
Yay!

Cheeky thought here since I already have one does that count? :p ;)

You are on fire today Wishblend ;)

And I've been using her heat to add to the wiki and get an UA features video for it too, though it's just a clip with no real editting but it's possible to be done if wanted.

I am not positive how many incidents with the convoys of ships that carry the UA have occurred but is it possible that we should try to follow the ships???? I am not even sure if that is possible in game, do the ships actually appear in SC again or do they jump to a nearby system and if they do jump could we track them...??

I'm back on the hunt, hanging out in Timocani (Imp. Courier, Mobius group). I've equipped both a Cargo & Frame Shift scanner, in case that sneaky T9 decides jumping is a good idea.

I am at Virginis 109 on the hunt as well my plan is to follow the t9 for as far as I can.......

Has anyone actually tried to let it eat the ship? Or just FSD or other modules? You know, if the thing is organic...
(Or maybe - less likely - let it expire and charge FSD in the cloud of its remains?)

Anyway, if there is a group of Cmdrs actively looking for it somewhere, I'm definitely in, just poke me in-game.

You are getting good at the morse thing. I'm still unable to hear hole words.

I hope it's not Earth that spells Raxxla. They may want it back.

To all hunters: Remember to go to "Deep Space".

This definitely a good idea, even if it just proves we don't have persistent NPCs. I did try to follow one without a wake scanner using the Isinona technique of looking where the wake is pointing and going through the nav list one by one till I got a match... Of course that took too long and by the time I jumped he was long gone.

This was from Timocani, I'll see if I can find the system I think he jumped to.

If you just ignore them the UAs tend to eat through the cargo hatch before anything else. I'm not sure if that is some sort of intentional behaviour; it does seem that cargo hatches are easier to damage than other components.

Someone has probably already tried this, but does anyone know if it changes pitch or frequency depending upon where it is in the galaxy? In a similar way to playing the "warmer" / "colder" game as a kid. e.g. frequency increases the closer it is to the destination or next clue.

A good trick is to listen for key markers, rather than whole words.

"KALANA 2" is a good one to listen to with an angle to hearing the breaks between letters. http://www.twitch.tv/ratking15/b/672161703 @ the 10:06 mark

"A" is "dit dah" and occurs three times (identically) with "other stuff" in between. After the third occurrance there's a significant gap, followed by a long chitter (as numbers are 5 symbols long in morse, while most alphabet characters are 1-4).

If you're not experienced at listening to morse, listening for patterns works best :)

Found it! (My old post that is..sheesh the forum search is hard work!)

I just found one too.. But I was trying the waiting game and they jumped, but the t9 appeared to head from Timocani to E Geminorum. This system has the same kind of star as the one in 90 Virginis if its of any significance. (I don't have a wake scanner, but I used Isinona's trick of lining up the wake and going through the destinations, so this is an educated guess)

It would be really interesting if the T9 jumped to E Geminorium again (from Timocani); that would indicate that they're on some kind of route, and not just random spawns in random systems in a certain area in the galaxy.

The two systems we know spawn UAs are Timocani and 109 Virginis, which are ~100 ly apart. I'm not able to get in game, but if I remember correctly, E Geminorium is kind of on this line too?

Lastly, having spent ages trawling through the old thread to update the wiki with things tried and known-knowns (..and still only ~300 pages in) it was clear that on UA day (May 4) they were spawning regularly and then they appeared to dry up. What isn't clear is whether this was because people stopped looking, or because they stopped spawning. Now we are looking again with a concerted effort, if nothing turns up soon then we have a clue that they only spawn on certain days, not every N strong signal sources.
