Can't rank up?

Same here, bored trying to get an ascension mission last two months... tried everything i read in forums with no results...

Aaand you dont think there is something wrong with that?

Not at all.

Why shouldn't it be a challenge, why shouldn't it take time and effort to progress through the ranks?

The methods I (and others) suggested earlier in this thread appear to work. Why not try them for a week?

First of all i have been doing the mothods that have been suggested in this thread.

Secondly, challenge yes... Pointlessly drawn out repetition of the same missions for WEEKS is NOT a challenging task... Its the definition of brain addling boredom. When you perform the same task 30 times with no result, that tends to discourage you from further playing the game.

short Q....does a bounty with one local empire faction (runs for another 3 days) block any naval ranking missions no matter how many missions i run successfully for other empire factions?

There's definitely something weird with how the ascension missions are handed out. I've been working on Empire for the courier, first day I did a handful of missions and got 4 ascension offers for Outsider at one station. Took one, completed it, got my rank, and have now been doing missions for 3 days without anything showing up.

Thers no grinding to be done to make it work its just broken, people think it works after a while of grinding but it would pop up any way.

You do not have to do only this, you probably can't find missions of the correct types for a single faction in one stations non-stop anyway - you can do these missions while you are doing other things.

If the missions pop up every time you click a button (ie if it is too easy) you might as well not have ranks (or the permits) at all - and then (like having no death penalty or no work required for the more expensive ships) you will get another group of people complaining the game is no challenge.
