Here's as good as anywhere. I got the Fed dropship! I must say it's mobility is odd though, pitch up or down is so fast with Flight Assist still on you'll be turned completly around and still have most all your previous forward momentum as revers momentum. Can't wait to start upgrading it, but first it's back to a Cobra. Even stock rebuy is 800k+ so I had to buy a Cobra with my 400k left after buying. I'm not flying that beast without rebuy, no way. :D

No, "here" was refering to the forum and this new General Discussion thread. I propose Diaguandri! Best shipyard and Outfiter in one station I've found.

Good RES, Conflict zones nearby? Also able to provide cover for mining or trade runs.

Cmdr P.Rumhole
Conflict not sure. Plenty of nearby Extraction economies, but never visited a RES yet(what would a smuggler do there after all) so no clue. Someone more knowledgable should probably investigate it's practicality.

Ok, still haven't got the full gen-up on the game.. what so special about RES (what is that) and conflict zones?

RES are resource extraction sites. Basically they're asteroid belts where miners can extract materials for sale if they have a mining laser and a refinery. You tend to find a lot of pirates around there looking for a score, which in turn means it's a good spot for bounty hunters.

Conflict zones are areas where a battle is going on between two factions, you can drop in and temporarily declare for one of the sides (using your function menu on the right) then you can earn combat bonds based on the ships you destroy.

The circle of life...sorta.

There is a problem with picking a home system for the fleet since this does span the gamut of allegiances. Some players might be hostile depending on their powerplay allegiance or even just regular faction. For example, I'm an Imperial pilot so having a home system in Fed space does me no good since I wouldn't be able to rank up in the Empire. Given that I think having a home system in each major faction space is a good idea
