General / Off-Topic want to play elite... but cant... its too blooming hot!

If it's really hot, just get a small USB powered fan, and sit it at your side. Get an old ice-cream tub or something, and fill it with ice-cubes and pour salt all over them. Blow the fan over the tub, you'll be chilly cool in no time at all :D

I'm on an island in the Philippines since last October... I just run the Aircon 24/7 - even during Taiphoons.

What a bunch of British wussies!!! I'm from Manchester and I'm currently on holiday and it's 43c here. 30c in Uk, hah you lot have no idea what heat is :p Roll ya pants up and put yer hankies on (and then call in sick)

anyone else here struggling with the heat?

here in blighty i am not used to 30 degrees at night. my oculus rift face sponge feels like a racing drivers underpants.... it probably does not smell much better either.

what do you guys do to keep your gaming space cool?

on that note... does anyone want to demo my rift :)?

Cant you just install a couple of heat sink launchers on your house?

It's almost 32C in Moscow, Russia. 31C in my PC chasis(3 fans in 1 out)
Got 72C on CPU(i5-3570k) playing World of Warships. =(
So, waiting until night now.

As a bearded man from Scotland I disapprove of this heat. It's unnatural and demand my 12 month winter to return 8) .

Awesome! This englishman accidentally picked up a suntan and has lost three kilos already this week, I hope you are not so adversely affected.

When it is really hot, I close up my apartment and turn on the A/C. If it is just warm to hot, I just turn on my floor fan and point it at me. This fan has been on since May and hasn't burnt out yet and I've had it for over a year now!

For all you poor CMDRs out there, this thing actually works well...

Here in Japan, almost every room has it's own AC unit, so I just close my door and crank 'er up! The mutts get cold though, so I have to park them in the sun :D

I see we are fitting in with the Brit mentality
Complain if it's too cold
Complain if it's too hot
take holiday in Med. and then complain about the heat there.
and ...
to add to it we're all trying to play computer games on a nice sunny day.
so from a comparatively cool Cyprus .. I'm missing Elite while on hols, but at least have air-con.

But seriously, it's very hot. Here in deepest France it's like 40,both my PC and me struggle
A couple years ago me and a friend motored (from Stockholm) down to Marseilles and going through france it was so ridiculously hot we had to be fully dressed so as to absorb the sweat which would in that amount have destroyed the seat fabric (why he even cared in a car so old it didn't have AC I don't know), and road signs everywhere saying Hydratez Vous lol. I bet people were dropping like flies. But when we finally arrived, oh boy I loved that city - closest thing to Mos Eisley I ever saw (except for actual light sabers) and the sea food was just so damn good I completely forgot about my steak obsession. Made the mistake of visiting to an internet café, going from 40 celsius and wet as a squid into a room at 20 degrees and blasting freezing air isn't the relief you'd expect
