Hostile & attacked by clean ships, options.

So i am getting attacked a lot by clean faction ships, yes i am pledged to a power, yes i am in hostile territory, but these angels, or other faction ships are interdicting me, then shooting at me, yet they stay clean, if i shoot back, it's a fine, if i kill one, it's a 7 day bounty in that system.
Now this is a good trade route i use, so i don't want to keep paying fines, i don't want a bounty, so i have to run away, so to keep clean, and keep trading in that system, what are the options other than running.

Hello OP,

Can I para-phrase?

I have a trade route that runs through an area of space where everyone hates me, and my name is mud. I am getting problems because of this.

Not offay with PP, but this is this the crux of your statement?

aside from running I would imagine your only other choice would be to not be pledged to any power at all. I'm considering leaving Hudson for now while my fortunes mostly are made in Imperial space

Use an outpost, silent running/speed docking at stations or unpledge.

my statement is that PP is not good for traders, if i am shot at, i should be free to defend myself, without fines or bounties, even in hostile space. This puts me off being pledged a little, i would not care as much if i could legally fight back. I quite like the interdictions, just not the fines/bounties.

Use an outpost, silent running/speed docking at stations or unpledge.

docking is not a problem, the feds don't bother me, it is only the powers ships.
But don't you think we should be legally entitled to fight back if attacked first, the systems faction make the laws, not the powers.

You are pledged to Arissa Lavigny-Duval. You are currently carrying a load of vegetables and lithium to the remote Imperial Industrial system of HENGISTOX.
What you did not notice, was that 14.87 light years away, in the system WINTERIA, which is an Imperial system with 7 billion inhabitants, forces loyal to Winters established a secret mind-control facility disguised as an aid station. This facility projects a field exactly 15 Ly in radius that magically makes laws stop being enforced in some situations.

You find yourself being interdicted by federal ships... in Imperial space... while working for one of the most powerful Imperial politicans. You expect to be protected, or, at the very least, the bounty laws to apply. However, because of Felicia's mind control field, this doesn't occur, which might leave you a bit baffled because Felicia is very distinctly federal while the place you are in is very distinctly Imperial (as well as five times more basky and only containing a quarter of the capitalism.)

I think it is reasonable, that in situations such as these, confusion may occur under the current gameplay mechanics.

especially when i am allied and the local faction is green to me, yet i am still not allowed to defend myself against that power, even when being shot. And if i do, i am then fined or wanted by my allied green friends. Just does not make sense.

Agreed, NPCs should receive the same treatment as players and become wanted once they open fire.

Well - if you have a bounty in the system, the stations will bother you sooner rather than later (I have a 2 mill bounty in Sol for roleplaying a Klingon last Weekend - all fine)

I get your point - a couple of Mafiosi attack you and if you defend yourself, you'll get a bounty resulting in you becoming the criminal who is then persecuted by the state as a consequence.

The problem is that FD maybe realised the BGS is so utterly beyond repair, they didn't even bother to try tying PP in with it (kinda like putting a really grossly coloured and sized tattoo over a small, bad one).

It is what it is, but given the current mechanics, I think my advice still applies.

I see your point too, just not right that my Anaconda has to run from a Cobra, just to avoid getting a bounty for 7 days.
