The very best profession: fish trader.

The occasional Tea Trader, quite an English thing I think, as I've seen a few others on the board note the same. A while back I found a tiny mining outpost in need of 200 tons of tea (Demand), so begun running it from a local Agri system. I was curious how the Demand numbers worked (Supply shifts down on purchase, but then top-ups again). I was delivering 100T of tea per run in the Lakon T6. Each time I came back the Demand figure was 25 lower. After a few hours I'd managed to move the 200T initial demand down to zero, but it wasn't as simple as two runs in the T6 (100T capacity x 2 runs = 200T delivered). I must have delivered over 1000 tons of tea to a tiny outpost :) Miners must get thirsty.

My "thing" is boosting my local minor faction, I think almost a solo effort as the systems I'm in are rarely visited by others, so I'm presuming the double-expansion (now in three systems) and close to nabbing an outpost and probably control of another system, is all down to me. Yes... I've started wars and I feel very bad about it. I did enjoy Schmack "food run" approach, very nice. And probably helps boost ranking reps, while I'm near 100% doing missions for the same single faction, so not advancing my Fed ranking at all.
I always wanted to know if tea could be an illegal commodity, I wanted to be a tea smuggler.

Yeeeep. My goal now, which I have decided upon at approximately 12:11 AM, is to buy a Lakon Type 9, outfit it well with weapons and good shields, and haul fish from I Bootis to the surrounding systems. On the way back, whatever I can find to make a profit, without using trade tools (they're cheating to me). Right now I have about 22 Million credits in assets, have not traded yet, and only dabbled in bounty hunting. I don't like trading in huge amounts of luxury/expensive items, I want to trade all of the commodities.

What are your weird goals? Do you have any?

If you do this in online, dare I offer to add some... action to your daily business? The fish you are hauling as slaves for the hungry, doomed to be cooked, are potential members of my fish crew. It is a dark story of a water world that was enslaved by the Empire to keep their population from starvation. While they have their reasons, little they know about the sanity their food has...

I will free our people once again!

A load of codswallop.

I am currently flying 8t of rare liquors & Onionhead to Sagittarius A*, in an Orca. It has taken over a month so far.

When I get there, I intend to have a party with whoever else I find there.

Awesome!

One of the things I enjoy is stocking my trade-conda (sweared to never climb back into a T-9 again) with worthless things and going where there are player pirates.
"Yes? Are you interested in my ware? I am a scrap and dung vendor!"

It's pretty cool when your faction expands and you know it's pretty much you that's done it, isn't it?

Fishmonger
A person who sells raw fish

I equip collector drones and go around scanning for weak signals. Then I sell stuff I find in Black Markets. Sometimes I see wanted cargo ship so I extract cargo from it.

I am full time scavenger. Until it changes :)

Here, have a headbutt, OP. You're gonna make many Krogan happy with all the fish. Darn, that must have been another universe. Anyway - so long - and thanks for the fish.

I see your Fish Trader and raise you Fish Miner

You know, if they expand on the original Frontier gameplay where you could leave a mining machine on the surface and collect ores from it... so that when planetary landing comes in you can leave animal traps or fishing nets or something... come back and collect animal meat and fish... I'm not only okay with that idea I think it's really cool. That's basically a Fish Miner... that would be kind of great. You could literally be a space fisherman. And imagine if you could deploy floating nets in gas giant atmospheres with water based life! Please dont hate me :)

Our gaming clan's TeamSpeak server has a channel called "ACME Fish Supplies" - dedicated to Elite: Dangerous, from back in the Premium Beta days, when everyone hauled fish out of Chango Dock :D

I enjoyed my short stint as a stiffy smuggler during the Great Boner Pill Rush of Beta Sculptoris.

But fishmonger is a worthy goal too.
