Player pirates - aren't they supposed to demand loot?

If only all the pew-pew pukes would organise themselves into a private group and max out their instances with fellow pew-pews and shove it on twitch / youtube - it would be glorious :)

Unfortunately it doesn't happen, and they whine about not being able to seal-club Trader Trundle in his E class Type 6 :(

And THAT is the unspoken point that none of the pew pew types will admit to.

Why should the PvPers inconvenience themselves for for the sake of the PVEers? Open already benefits us, so why change it?

Youre al forgetting, the seal clubbers aren't going to go to a private pvp mode, the traders aren't going to go to a private pvp mode, so the only players in it will be duelist. Surprise, they are already getting their own private mode called CQC.

Of course not. Pew-pew pukes slaughtering unshielded and unarmed traders is LULZ for them. Having to fight other pew-pews makes them combat log.
From my experience the traders log more than the pew pewers. Having to adapt to circumstances and maybe fight someone, that's unheard of for them. Everything has to be rainbows and sunshine.

Jordan, I am really looking forward to CQC for duelling. A chance to try my hand in combat against opponents who I know will be armed and trying to defeat me, in an arena that has no real effect on the Elite game itself. I'm all for blowing stuff up, I just don't want to blow things up that take time from someone, as a persons playtime is utterly irreplaceable. CQC seems to offer that, I look forward to it, and I hope I can get a go at you myself. I won't try to escape :D In the real Elite game - escaping is at least 75% of the fun.

I'm still on the fence about it, on the one hand CQC will hopefully not have shield cells and chaffs so combat might be fun and skillbased. In the other hand it won't effect the game in the slightest so it'll be a pointless time sink. I'm conflicted, I'll wait to see how it is. For now I'm cautiously optimistic.

Wen Iz Pew Pew 4 ze Lulz, Iz intadik allz the ships!

Iz near ganked da Conda in Zaka yesta dayz. He legged it to luw wake wiz 15% thusta!

Come on man..

Most pirates are after cargo, attack ships don't carry cargo.
Traders could wing up with combat ships but they don't.

Saying we all combat log when its greats tricky is very salty.

That's like saying all traders play in solo where its safe...........

By playing the game the way that it's intended? If Frontier didn't want us killing each other, it wouldn't have been an option.

As I've stated in a later reply, the intention was for PvP interaction to be "rare and meaningful". Tell me, is repeatedly seal-clubbing meaningful to you? If so, I'm sure we'd all be absolutely fascinated when you spell out just what that "meaningful" is.

Maybe solo play would be more your speed?

When I'm out exploring I'm usually either in Solo or Mobius anyway - there's not much point being in Open if I'm a bazillion LY from anyone - especially as the game client when in Open mode will be searching for anyone who's in the same system as me - which means slightly increased overhead - and the further out I go the less chance of encountering anyone there.

And thanks to PK'er morons, the last thing I'd be doing after a long trip would be to re-enter inhabited space in Open :)

The point of the CQC is the same (in general) as the the whole game: Personal enjoyment. The effect one has on the other is meaningless.

Subjectively speaking of course,,,,, :p

Well you could look at it the other way, we're your content too. Why don't you pay us? We take gold and palladium :D

Indeed that is a valid point of view. All my gold and palladium is locked up behind some rather tasty hardware. Why not try and take it from me? Forget all this ship-pixels-in-space and try some real player-vs-player :D

Isn't someone who uses adapts hardware and software outside of a game to improve their experience, basically an exploiter/cheater?

You are one step away from shield hacks. Why would I want to play with you anyway?

"Oh but I didn't want to die, so I set my shields to only drop to one ring.
I am playing my way."

Slippery slope....

I'd disagree there. Why should someone who's bought a nice fast graphics card be limited to the same framerate as someone trying to play on integrated graphics?

Why should someone with an overclocked i7 be limited to the same CPU cycles as someone on a 16MHz 386-SX?

Why should someone with an SSD be limited to the same transfers as someone with a ST506?

Better hardware should always be, urm, better?

It's not rare or meaningful because Frontier hasn't added anything meaningful to the interaction. I suppose I could macro a message that says "Avast ye scurvy dog! Prepare to die!" Before I vaporize people, but it wouldn't make much difference to me either way. Combat is a bad time for idle banter anyways.

But you don't play online anyways, so what does it matter to you how people play? You obviously just don't like PVP.

PvP isn't shooting pixel people in a game. It's raiding their bank accounts, getting police to turn up at 4AM, destroying their credit, getting their wife to file for divorce, having the electricity shut off in the middle of winter, all sorts of fun stuff :D

Think I could **** someone off enough to make all that happen? That'd make for an interesting story!
