I met David Braben... a year ago. ;)

Ah we were so innocent back then Drew. Do you still remember? What is was like before Offlinegate? It's like a dream, a golden dream of happy tralalaling amongst the DDF documents. Good times. Good times.

After having the pleasure of meeting Mr. Braben at E3, I can say you are dead on, Drew. He is a real gentleman. :) Incredibly kind, approachable, and a genuine enthusiasm that matched my own when I got to shake his hand and give my thanks. I'm very grateful for the opportunity!

Obama makes good speeches too. Hero worship never ends well imo. :p

Actually, I enjoy listening to Braben talk - lots of enthusiasm and an inspirational passion. Yet these days I'm far more convinced by what people do than what they say ;) Its a wisdom learnt from a lifetime of experiences.

Although Carl Sagan was one of a kind. :)

Aaahhh those were the days! When Eranin was home and Freeport was the only place in the Galaxy to pick up guns and loose women! :p
I have a shiny signed copy of your book from over a year ago too! About time for a sequel I'd say!

Ahhh Drew :(

I remember reading this article. Was a great read back then. The bulk of it still is, though now sadly tinged with missed opportunity, communication blundering and the death of the best damn space sim design ever.

A year went by quick.

Yeah the offliners ruined the game! Now FD is a bitter dreadnaught, knowing that the player base can never be satisfied, therefore better concentrate on the revenue. Which, as it is, requires satisifying the player base. Argh... *vanishes in a puff of paradoxism*

Depends.. Did you ask him if he really went to the moon :p

No we were in a group and some smart aleck (not in our group we were USAF cadets after all and being proper) asked if he believed in aliens. Looked at the guy smiled but never said anything.

I met Quentin Tarantino in London and the theatre and he bought me a drink and we had a chat about various movies, no joke!
Drew how do i get access to your book, i was a backer on KS...?
