Last update v.1.3.07 running smoother, two possibilities ?

Hello everyone, just wondered if this version is running much smoother for everyone?? i.e...little to no stuttering?? ....it has for me.

Or is it because I have added 'EliteDangerous32.exe' to my AV's exceptions list while the update was in progress?

Please let me know as I would, and others I'm sure, will be very interested to see which one has improved game play very muchly.

It loads WAY faster and seems smoother on my (old) gaming laptop. Als no more 'shader bar thingy'... Wow, impressed!

This is advice number one that I give to all newcomers: Create a specific exception to Elite´s executable file, not only to the AV but also to your firewall. It has also helped us with instancing issues.

I have no other basis for it other than anecdotal but very noticeable improvements in many of the cases of the players who did it correctly.

Yesterday at work I had to rebuild a laptop and after it was finished I noticed some very weird lag accessing the network (ping responses were all over the place). I traced it to the firewall in our Avast! antivirus. Bear in mind every other machine on the network uses the same antivirus and didn't have the same problem but even so I think your suggestion has merit.

Also, I have 2 external USB drives attached to my home machine and I have noticed they can cause the odd stutter when they spin up so I keep the switched off when not using them now.

I'm learning that there could be a divide between owning an AMD or nvidia card regarding this update ? Nvidia being the preferred choice the the graphics xml file default. :/
