Arissa Lavigny-Duval officially wins the powerplays (proof inside)

2015-07-09_00001.jpg

We just successfully reached our two true objectives:

1- Breaking the game
2- Getting the Cockaigne.

GG

A good sign for me to use my last rank 5 cycle (no motivation to farm 4k merits) to make bounty-money as hell and then goodbye powerplay.

Maybe i come back when powerplay 2.0 is released but this is just broken and poor designed.

Been warning about this on the forums for the past three or so weeks, and FD didn't care to listen. The only people who are going to continue with Powerplay are those who don't understand how the fundamentals of the game (don't) work, because every power out there is going to have the same problem eventually (looks like it's going to be Aisling's turn next).

ALD's collapse mirrors Rome's collapse (among other empires through human history) after it also expanded too much, too fast.

Now all that remains is for the barbarians (Hudson and Co.) to come and sack everything, and then suffer the same fate themselves.

History repeats itself once again.

HAHA OMG

Did you really just compare Powerplay in Elite: Dangerous to the fall of the real world Roman Empire

... sorry I was just about to write more but have soiled myself

As someone who hasn't really bothered with PP, what exactly am I looking at (except the Cockaigne joke)?

Well you should read the other threads around to get the context but, the tl;dr version is:

Most popular, biggest and well organized power, holding number one position since the second week, suddenly falls to position 10 because of either bugs or bad game design (or both), as every single system falls into turmoil at the same time, and send us back to the last position with no hope of recovery (you can see the -5676 command capital we got there)

But at least we got the Cockaigne before we hit the wall.

This is utter nonsense, read a book ..I read this in the ALD thread, and it's just as embarrassing there.

Rome did not fall through over-expansion, nor did any other empire I can think of. Rome fell because it's people went native and nolonger felt Roman, it fell because it failed to impliment social change, it fell due to disease decimating the population, it fell due to the cost of slavery (ironically high due to the lack of expansion for several hundred years); it fell due to a massive swaith of humanity packing up their stuff in the plains of russia and all moving west to run from the Huns. These and a hundred other reasons, it was complex and it is recorded history.

Rome did not fall due to over-expansion, they had halted expansion since Hadrians era....many hundreds of years before the fall.

READ A BOOK. sheesh.

I agree with you almost 100%. You obviously have impressive understanding of history (some people even belive that german tribes conquered Roman Empire. LOL.)

but "russia" ? Really ? after next 1200 year maybe

and even then russia didnt own mongol and middle asian plains nomadic hordes emerged from.

You would probably be better suggesting a more specific book for them to read than "a book". They might go and read the wrong book! Disaster!

I see. Thanks for the explanation.

I have to say, its kinda horrible but at the same time also great. Really bad for the people pledge to hear, but at the same time its lots of drama and I wonder what happens now story wise with ALD. It can get really interessting ^^
