Please report all cheaters you find: justice is coming for all of them!

:D

EDIT: this post was edited because it seems I've named and shamed a poor poor PROVED cheater and hacker, violating the "naming and shaming" policy, while he was simply violating the game, FD and other Players. Even though, no name was made directly.
And no animals were harmed while writing this post.

Thanks for sharing. Ruining the game for others is a joy for some. Sad.

As said above, one week of shadowban won't stop the cheating problem.....
This cheater could ruin weeks of work from casual players, ruin their will to play, cause bad press and what does it get for clearly admiting he's cheating? a week of shadowban? Let's make it a month at least and that would be a moderate start.....

Oh lord, a 1 week shadowban. No wonder cheaters openly laugh at Frontier.

Be honest please and try to put yourself into FD clothes regarding a so delicate matter as banning a "customer" is.
Some time ago it was just a "laughable" warning, now it's an immediate 1 week ban: I think it is an appropriate measure for a "first time" cheater.
Then, if a cheater goes on cheating after that, a 1 month or better a permanent ban could be "appropriate" and justifiable.
And they know about him, now.

i think i'm honest and no i don't agree at all that 1 week of shadowban (not ban he can still play solo) for such matters is ok.... That's just my point of view of course

Ok. And you would say the same if it'd be your personal company to ban customers who paid your product? Honestly...
BTW, I think those cheaters are kids and losers, so I don't think they would start a class action against FD for them being banned. But it still is a delicate matter. ;)

Well technically since the user violated the TOS in the user agreement and confessed to doing so, FD could legally deactivate his account, right?

If one customer is ruining the fun of others, this could cost more money than ban the cheaters (and them being kids, losers or else doesn't really matters)

Frontier decided to deal with it with the shadowban: the cheater can still play but without interaction with other players or with the simulation. I found it great until i saw that it was for one week...

Yes, they've paid, but shadow ban doesn't stop them playing. So shadow ban should be used liberally and heavy handedly.

+1 that's the whole point of the shadowban way of dealing with it....

Ok. I agree with you and atlas974, then. But I think that it is 1 week just for the fist time, like punishments you give to kids ;)
Second time will be very hard I suppose...

Very weak giving out 1 week sentences.
If FD has proof of cheating, perma ban, no money back, also, any 1st discoveries are wiped, basically the player is wiped from the galaxy's existence.
Let the cheater buy another account, if they do it again, another perma ban.
I love the game, and I haven't played for 3 days now, what's a week of being able to still play in (real solo) to these jerk-offs?
The only way this lame 1 week sentence makes any sense, is that maybe the proof is not concrete, or maybe FD is studying the cheat itself, and needs the cheaters, which is why the cheaters get away with it.

He got a one week ban. ONE WEEK. And he got caught on vid, had a whole thread up in flames, and on even came on board to taunt and laugh, and he got one miserable week.

Think about all the others that didn't get caught on vid. You think they get banned? They don't even get a slap on the wrist. This whole P2P is a joke. This whole "we investigate on a case by case basis" is a joke.

For automatic cheat detection, a 1 week shadowban makes sense, giving the player a chance to remedy their mistake, assuming it was an honest one.

For those that are revealed to be intentional cheaters and even brag about it, perma shadowban with all NPCs being harmless.

I think banning is a last resort , just reset his account , let them have fun in a start up ship with no stats to talk about lol .
.
IF they continue.......then ban
