So back in the day it was often said that FD were creating a game they wanted to play. All good from the sounds of it, but I've long suspected that this isn't the case. How can you expect peeps who have worked long and hard all week to go home and play the game they've been working on? They might well have a vision in the abstract sense but it doesn't make sense to me any more given many of the questionable choices they've made.

Therefore, the question is: Do you think the guys at Frontier really are creating a game that they want to *actively* play?

I do have an alteria motive by asking the question and it should be obvious at this point to why. Because if they aren't doing so, then maybe, just maybe, they should be giving us - the real players - what we are looking for.

Interested to hear your ideas.. When you vote please comment as to why.. Thx! :D

inb4 the hate :)

"The Dev's don't see things the way I do so that must mean they don't play their own game." That hardly sounds like evidence to me. I believe they are just as involved with the game as we are.

Okay.. Let me start then. I cant give my hours played because I dont have the stats but I can give you my ranks:

Combat: Elite
Trade: Broker
Exploration: Pathfinder (i think)

We have a history, they don't answer my questions unfortunately. :(

Ah, ok, can't be helped then.

As for the question, if i worked on a game 8 (or more) hours a day, i would most likely load up something else for relaxation when i got home.

Im interested in understanding how many CGs they've taken part in.. How many of them even got into to top 10%?

DBOBE does play, he has said a number of times in interviews..... Although he seems to prefer PvP by the sound of it., and he's pretty rubbish from what he's said!

So that's maybe why PvP is so high on the agenda, Its what DBOBE likes and it's his game remember, were just along for the ride.

Voted no. If they do then they don't play like the majority of people they probably dip in and out an randomly test mechanics.

If they played like players did and tested the professions we'd probably have a working economy and background simulation and they wouldn't have added in the 20t cargo limit that took a month to change. They would probably be harder on cheaters too as I doubt any of the devs have encountered people combat logging on them on a daily basis or been gunned down by a player tanking a station with the infinite shield hack.

If they played pvp then we wouldn't have had shield cells and boosters which broke the fun dog fighting from beta or high wake jumps and the lack of an interdiction cooldown which make player piracy hard and pvp bounty hunting near on impossible. If anyone thinks they're prioritizing pvp then you're sadly mistaken or you've never tried it properly.

There's a whole lot more but we all know where the failing are.

I guess this sums up the jigst of my point ;)

I though I did a better job....

Well I'm waiting to see some evidence.. When FD furnish US with the details I'm sure we can make our minds up based upon the real stats. Er.. come on they aren't playing their game..

And I await patiently and with mucho respect to see some evidence to the contrary ;) Thing is this point is rather important.. So time to fess up devs.. give us your real game personal ranks, we can make an allowance given you are working on the game for a living. ;)

Lets set a simple goal.. Exactly how many systems has Braben (luv you bro) genuinely scanned himself.. he loves exploration apparently. :/

I voted no but I actually think they do play, just in an idyllic dev private group. I think they play to a ruleset that they think everyone should play by and hence haven't experienced combat logging, cheating, exploting or any number of the other issue we all put up with daily.

Thats not really playing, hence why I voted "no they don't". No is really the only logical answer otherwise why is the game like it is? I love it, buts its broken and does its best to make me hate it.

CQC is a massive PvP addition so yeah, I would say they are prioritizing pvp at the moment and Whenever I've seen DBOBE play ED....... He's always been using an Xbox pad.

So expect Xbox easy mode and PvP priority over the coming months.
