Terrible luck much? Advice?

just traded in my fully kitted vulture for a fully kitted Type 7, went to solo to do trading. 3rd jump out of the system, gets interdicted by a Federal Agent in a Clipper, cant even outrun the damn thing. I literally used all my credits on the cargo for the first run. Ended up 990k in debt with no cargo at a station that only has up to a hauler in the shipyard and 1000 cr in cash....what should i do to dig myself out of this pit?

Sell the T7, buy the hauler & go to a system that sells a decent trader or Vulture. Start again....

What Klab said. A fully fitted T7 should bring at least 22mil in sale cost. Take away the 1mil debt and another 3 mil for re-buys/cargo and I'd say you should look at an ASP for around 18mil.

Something like this would do for both trading and combat although I'd get the 6A shield and 5A powerplant once you get the cash if you intend to go full combat, maybe some cell banks. (Adjust as necessary) :)
Alternatively strip it down to barebones and go exploring for a few weeks/months to generate some cash income when you get back..

Lembava and all other Li Yong-Rui exploited/controlled systems do 15% discount on ships and outfitting FYI. You may even be able to get yourself into a kitted Vulture if you do it right.

Bummer. I think you can't goo far wrong by following M.r Klab's advice up-thread. Though, I would use the hauler to take me to a well equipped station and there buy the best equipped combat ship I could afford. Then I would use the energy generated by your recent mishap to go on a gigantic killing spree - hunt down and destroy every bad person and enemy target you can. Then when your rage has spent you will, with the bounties you'll collect, be back where you were. Then you can decide what to do.

"Went to solo for trading." Gosh and then even failing, Jesus.

But yea, sell the T7 and buy a sidey or hauler to go to a station to buy a vulture and start again.

yeah i just sold the T7 for a hauler and going back to Gende to get my vulture back. This little mishap wiped a quarter of all my assets but eh, what can i do huh. There anyway to stop these agents from interdicting me? ive had this happen before too.. Should i just unpledge?

Back during the Beta we used to dump canisters of Palladium to help newbies out. I suppose that would still work as a sort of transfer, 100t should be worth around 1.2-1.5mil. Just do it in deep space to get around the 20t limit.

If you're finding PP enemies to be more annoying than challenging, then you may want to disconnect from the PP subgame structure. You can still avail yourself of the regional effects of the Powers without being directly attached to anyone, and then profit while not gaining the enmity of 9/10ths of the galaxy.

Also, Coolheaded Rep for not flipping your beans over what is a pretty pants situation.

i just realized i was hauling 204 tons of imperial slaves...poor sods. <long sigh>

well, flipping beans isnt going to magically give me my ship and cargo back so what good is that XD

You are going to get interdicted all the time now, especially in your home system by rival factions. The AI has been cranked up a notch for the NPC's. I'd recommend learning how to win the minigame (yaw is the secret for me) and/or submitting and then fleeing as fast as possible.

I personally will fight if I'm not overwhelmed, but I get killed about once a week when I bite off more than I can chew, lol

o7

i tried to avoid the interdection but the T7 flies like a brick so that was out of the question XD Now i just bought an ASP and am outfitting it to trade. An asp should stand a much better chance against clippers in at least getting the hell out of there also, my viper has the same skin o7

Buy something cheap and do some smuggling quests. When you got 1m then fill your t7 and fly it uninsured :)
j/k you probably gambled enough. it might actually be worth selling it as you simply can't afford to run it :(

Thanks for posting though I've been considering trading in my asp for the t7 and risking running it bare-bones but you've just put me off :)

Vs npcs my asp is good up to Anaconda(excluding) but it's geared for piracy so not optimal for combat but probably tougher than a trade asp.

Just as an on the side I got a T7 for about 2-3 hours gameplay time, luckily I had 35mil at the time so when I discovered that I hated it I simply powered through imperial ranks with some charity cargo missions and got a Clipper myself. Works well as an un-shielded trader as long as you are careful when docking, expensive repairs tho.
One boost and the enemy interdicting you is out of weapons range :p

28 mil* for unshielded. 30.5 if you want to stick a 4A shield and a 4D powerplant to run it in there. (*23mil unshielded if you get the 15% discount).

Cargo exchange by abandon and scoop. Or work up a bounty and "donate" it.

That's not a bad idea yeah, work up a bounty, hop in a sidey, let the guy claim it, hop back into your proper ship again.

OP, I would do this if I still had the 3 mil bounty I had last week :p If I do get a large bounty againl I'll PM ya :)
