i been hearing bout xbox players can play w/pc players is this true? id rather keep my pc copy and link my pc game w xbox one friends instead of buying a new copy and having to restart
The only announcement has been that they will share the same galaxy simulation. What's important is that Microsoft has NOT announced any intentions of abandoning it's no cross-platform policy. It's not going to happen.i been hearing bout xbox players can play w/pc players is this true? id rather keep my pc copy and link my pc game w xbox one friends instead of buying a new copy and having to restart

The first link is where I got my information in the first place. I was really hoping that War Thunder would come to Xbone so I could play with my son who doesn't own a gaming pc, and doesn't really have room for one in his apartment. Yudintsev's own words, "Microsoft is not allowing cross-play completely; which means [War Thunder] cannot be on Xbox One."This is actually incorrect. They will allow it but only if they can nose around your servers and "certify" them to ensure a "good user experience".

Last I heard FD were looking into it but having to certify updates for consoles will slow patching as %OnePercent% says so it looks unlikely in the near future.
Why cant they make a good investment and play on PC? search your feelings you know it to be the true way ;pcrap id like to keep my pc version and be able to play w my xbox one friends... spend another 31 bucks to play w them and keep my acct ....

Interviewer: Will the story restart for the Xbox version? And will there be cross-platform play?
David Braben: No, it won't. And we haven't said if there will be cross-platform play, but we know that there won't at some times. We don't want any one platform to be held back, but one platform might lead another in individual features, because that way we don't have to roll out updates across all platforms on the same day, which just has technical risks, so we'd stop cross-play at that time. So technically we can do - practically it's not certain one way or the other. It's the same galaxy, the same world and the same story you can contribute to. If you're contributing to building a space station in a particular mining area, you're still doing that and getting the benefit from it.
[source video]Interviewer: But, it's so important to note this is all happening on your servers right? Which means [David Braben: That's right] there will be cross-platform play so if I'm playing on the PC and Man's on the Xbox One (rest indistinguishable).
David Braben: Right no, not quite, they're playing in the same Galaxy. At the moment the Xbox is in the Game Preview Program. [Interviewer: Right, yes] So that's like a testing as we get, particularly CQC up and running. So it's actually running in a separate world [Interviewer: Right] but ultimately they'll be working together in the same galaxy.
Interviewer: Right, but so when Elite: Dangerous is final people on Xbox One, my fans or whatever, they can play with me while playing on the PC version and we can just wing with each other or they can try and kill me? [David Braben: Right] Most likely.
David Braben: Yes and no. They can be in the same galaxy, affecting the same things. The other thing, we're hoping for that [Interviewer: Right] but we haven't promised it yet.
Interviewer: Oh, I got it. OK Sorry, I don't mean to like oversell yet.
David Braben: *Laughs*
