So I am going to come back again what did I miss?

I haven't played the game since back when the first war events started back in march I think. Can you guys give me an overview of changes? And is the game better now?

There are a few more ships, bugs that were squashed in 1.2 have re-emerged with 1.3 (although those have been fixed by now) and Power Play is out.

You missed the new ruling that was passed, outlawing the practice of starting a sentence with "So".
It's a heinous crime which carries the death penalty. Kill on sight with a 500,000 cr reward to the law bringer.
Too bad

Actually it's perfectly acceptable to start sentences with "So". As, for example, in, "So that he would be ready to play the game, Jimmy switched on his PC".

Is python still the most well rounded ship excellent at everything? How are the new ships, any of them beat the vulture in combat?

Another thing is that we were supposed to get a free ship for backers? Is that available yet?

Correct, sir. That is an example of proper contextual usage. Out-of-context usage is the offence

Well I must agree with you there!! :)
Ummm... "So" in the context the OP used it is not a conjunction; it's a discourse marker. It's commonly used in spoken English, but is also used in written forms, expecially texts in an informal register such as a forum post.

The internet has led to a great many changes in written English, such as the increase in use of spoken discourse markers in written texts, because it has led to an explosion of writing.

It's led to an explosion of something. Most of it, not good.

The Python is still the Python, so yes. It's still a fantastic all-rounder that can access Outposts.
As for the free ship for backers, I haven't gotten mine yet, so I'm assuming there are no news on that front yet.

I joined in the Kickstarter and got a free upgraded Eagle and extra credits when I started playing. I think there were higher rewards available depending on contribution level.
I've been playing since Gamma and I do think that the game has gotten a lot better (apart from PP that is, which I'm not interested in).

Basicly nothing changed. You are still flying from one spreadsheet to another. If you liked it, you will still like it.
If you want more immersion,or new fundamental changes, you have to wait a lot more time I think
They promise exciting news at Gamescom in august.
