If you need help on mining let me know. Depending how fast you can jump and dock in your T6 route, mining can be better.
Here is some A grade Cobra

However you can also fix some other multicannon instead of the mining laser or do small and medium multicannon and small and medium lasers for bounty hunting.
If your on budget you can try this loadout

You can also scoop mining fragments without drone, but it will speed up the collecting.
Depending where you mine you dont get much trouble with pirates. Even if you get some trouble you can try kill him with cobra or boost away.
Usually you get in metallic belts Gold,Osmium, Silver, Platinum, Platin, and that expensive mineral, along with the worthless stuff. Since your refinery has only 5 slots you will throw away the cheap stuff anyway.
Since the cobra has only small cargo storage, it wont take that long untill its full. Platin, Osmium and that Mineral are mining only and you also get some missions at high tech systems for thease. Payout can be 80k or more a piece.
You might try with the T6 but then your mainly defenceless and you cant escape well.
Bounty Hunting on the other side gives you between 5-100k ( sometimes more ) per ship with KWS. I would say usually you will get 20-30k per ship, you can also try bigger ones but in Cobra you will need some practise and also aim for powerplant.
In a Res you can get easy money just by scanning the pirates that try scan you or already in a fight with system units. You will just attack em if they wanted and get not much hits because the system units also attacking.
Its also good if you see some community goals ( combat is always good ) to parcipate a little in em that can help you get some extra credits. Personally i would not bother with trading or mining ones ( ok i bother with that one atm

).
Rare trades i did mention already, can give up to 18k per ton but a lot traveling is involved.
