Some Systems Unsearchable in Galaxy Map?

So long story short, I have been doing mostly exploration since the release of PP and as a habit when I get back from a trip I do a search of every system visited one at a time while selling off the cartographic data. It's just something I like to do so I can get more details on the systems I went to and possibly note the ones that are interesting. At any rate on my last trip I had several systems that I could not search for through the Galaxy Map.....basically any that were COL 285 Sector and Shui Wei Sector (I'm sure there are other sector types unsearchable as well) but I could put in any that were Synuefe and locate those every time. I was wondering if any of you other explorers have had this issue? My route was not terribly far but I went from Empire space to Mintaka, from there to Alnitak, and from there to Saiph before returning back to Imperial space.

EDIT: Just to clarify the three named stars I visited could be searched for as well.......the only ones goofy were the Sector ones with the random letter and number combo's after the identifier.

Double EDIT: May as well ask another question while asking this one I believe that I found Anilam listed as an alternate name (Epsilon Orionis) but could not locate Meissa. Is that star even in the galaxy map? I have been doing a tour of the connecting stars that make up the constellation Orion.

What I noticed earlier is, that the search function does not work, when there are many "hits". As the search gives you the ability to jump from hit to hit (by the using the arrow), it does not work in there are hundreds of systems fitting your search parameter.

If you enter more characters of the searched systems name, you should be able to find it.

That is my point.....I am entering in the exact system name along with all letters and numbers that go with it after the Sector part and the search function just simply isn't working......however if I just put COL 285 Sector and searched that you can jump repeatedly by hitting the arrow but there are so many of those systems that it would take a VERY long time to find the one you want...

EDIT: Thanks for the reply though.....was just wondering if anyone else experienced this as locating them all manually is a major pain in the butt.

Would it be too hard to scrape the database for systems I have visited? Or, discovered?

Apparently, bangbangbang CQC and console are far more important. 3rd party developers are creating the tools for exploration and trade that should be organic to the game.

Just give SJA *one week* and it would be *fixed*.

The 50 light-year radius on the map display is an insult.

Inb4 someone suggests that scene from Star Wars - the system and planets are no longer there. Thargoids have built their Death Star (TM) and are coming for us next.....

*coming to an expansion near you soon

Most systems work in searching...some don't. I found an undiscovered ELW in a COL 385 SECTOR system & cos i'm returning back to civvy space I wanted to check to see if anyone had tagged my find.

I know that the full system name is correct cos iv got a piccy of the ELW showing it, but when i put it in to search the map doesn't even move. Best i can get is to put in just COL 385 SECTOR, but this then starts to go through each of the millions of COL 385 SECTOR named systems one by one!!

Don't know if this search thingy is part broken cos i'm in the black, i can only see when i return & sell my data.

I really don't know how much of the data from my trip to the core & back has actually been saved...there have been sooooo many issues effecting us poor Explorers in the past couple of months!!

Meissa is 39 Lambda Orionis in game.

Many real life named stars can be found in E: D by their HD and/or HIP catalogue numbers, revealing their in game (alternate) name then.

There are some oddities in there too, for example search for HIP 26176 finds both 37 Phi-1 Orionis and HIP 26176.

Here's a weird thing, try this- if you have a system with a PG code name that can't be found in the search function, delete the last hyphen that appears between the numbers and replace it with the minus symbol from your keyboard's keypad. This usually makes it work, but - utterly bizarrely - only after you've first tried it with a standard hyphen. Using the minus symbol first time still doesn't work. I swear FD are putting some of the most obtuse bugs into the game just for laughs.

I read somewhere on here there is currently a bug with the search function in that systems with more than a couple of spaces in the name don't work. Best advice is to submit a bug report as I did and hopefully it'll be fixed asap.

Ah thanks! I will now have to take a trip there at some point also.....I have already been to Bellatrix, Betelgeuse, Mintaka, Alnitak, and Saiph.....in a perfect world a star should be able to be located using different names as well.....maybe in the future....I will sure be taking s trip to 39 Lambda Orionis at some point soon then as well.....thank you

This workaround is kinda goofy but I will definitely give this a shot as well.....thanks :)
