Your first Day in Elite...

I'm going to be playing naked on my first gaming session of Gamma, to symbolise being 'born' into the new universe.

I invite everyone to join me (not in my home, in your own).

I got all excited and then my bubble was unceremoniously burst.

Well for starters it will probably take me at least hour before I undock. I intend to gorge myself on every last detail of the station, the cargo, the system its in and of course the starting ship waiting for me in the docking area. Once Im satisfied I will undock and get into the swing of things by flying around the station and the system, again lapping in all the beautiful detail in my OR..make sure my ship's systems are set up the way I like and that I know all the buttons and what they do, and get myself settled in.

Once thast done I will request permission to dock and (hopefully) make it in in one piece, then either buy some cargo or take on a mission of some kind. Then undock, and well...the journey begins :)

When we say first day do we mean the beta or the final version?

Because my actual character is going to be a straight arrow, a Imperial gentleman with a pristine military service record and a lovely estate on some Imperial colony with a devoted little Imperial family.

In Beta however I am going to mess with the PO-LESE and empty my laser banks on the nearest starbase and fly around cackling until a viper blows me away.

I don't expect my first run through will take very long.

It's not how long you burn, it's how brightly you shine.

If its first day of beta, bet I'm stuck at work to come back & log on to see a massive queue to get on, if any of my other beta first days are to go by :p Otherwise it'll be Cmdr Mars' idea taking on the police, maybe go out hunting a battleship. If I even dented its shields before becoming toast I'd be having another 5 or 6 goes shouting out Banzai!!! Promise I'll take screens of the mess

Anyone remember that WoW meme? The dude who would yell something (his own name I think) and just charge in and wipe the entire guild in the resulting mayhem.....

That video was about the best thing that WoW ever did - so funny.

That guy whos doing the statistics rubbish :D

I'll probably be engaging in some "get rich quick" scheme :D
For some reasons I think the fastest way to get rich is trading. Or maybe do some missions to get some starting capital than go off trading. Trading has exponential gains, no?

I'll be rich soooo quick haha

Not sure whether I'll start in the founder's world or somewhere else, but my first day will be spent getting a feel for the game with maybe a little trading. I don't expect to head straight for the Big Black.

is it possible to see other players leaving the space station rather than just NPC traffic?

If so, I'd like to hide behind the station and hail new players as they are released into the vacuum of space for the first time then I'll shout "WELCOME TO THE WORLD...OF TOMORROW!!!" down the mic.

That would be the first day well spent..

re.

As others as stated my intention is to spend much time learning all the station/ship/info menus inside out before launching into the unknown....

In reality, I will start exploring menus, accidently un-dock after about 10 minutes, spend the next 30 minutes trying to re-dock, aborting, crashing....very slowly, then restart and try again :p

First Day

Well, I get down to flying, docking, I remember this being a pain in the neck the first week, and starting to trade... Hopefully there will be some non human pirates to test my triggerfingers on...

happy hunting
