Hi everyone,

Another new feature that we'll be returning back to. This one is on regular top 10 lists - https://community.elitedangerous.com/node/223

We really want your feedback in the thread below. Some ideas for top ten lists you want to see.

As it reads on the page:

We’re starting our top 10 lists feature very simply, with a list of 10 amazing screenshots taken by the community over the last couple of weeks. Check out the 10 shots below and let us know what you think. Can you do a better job? Post your screenshots in the forum thread by clicking here.

What sort of content do you want to see in the Weekly 10? Click here to submit your ideas, whether that’s a list of 10 greatest moments in Elite history, 10 amazing star systems or 10 invincible loadouts. We’re looking forward to digging through your suggestions, but for now take a look at the amazing screens below.

We tried to gather a selection of colourful screenshots that were focused on beautiful scenery for this feature. We looked through all the screens posted on Reddit, Twitter, Facebook and Elite: Dangerous fansites over the last few weeks, and whenever our breath was taken away we added the screen to our list.

We wanted yet another way to showcase the amazing community-created content, and thought this might be a great way to do it!

all this new involvement from Frontier is great but is it just me that feels like they have totally misunderstood what people meant when we said we wanted more communication. I feel as though this is all a smoke screen to steer us all away from the actual issues that are happening. Screenshots...really??? And why isn't the name a rare comp an actual in game challenge rather than just some nonsense on the forums?

We're increasing all communications across the board. That includes new community-focused content, nice fun things like the post we just put together, something for people to read in their lunch break or whatever, and then we have the forum feedback Q&A as well (which we're compiling at the moment again) which deals with slightly more serious forum questions.

A nice round selection of content for all moods and situations! It's not our intention to throw up a smoke screen at all! We're trying to be as communicative as possible in lots of different ways.

Also, nonsense on the forums? I don't think that's a fair statement, we want to do something nice for the users on here! I think it makes perfect sense to put it in the forum.

Edward, while yes, we'd love Frontier to just tell us everything that's going on, stuff like this is way way way WAY better than near complete silence.
I've been very critical of the silence from Frontier, you know this, and I say do stuff like this, it's better than not doing stuff like this.

Hey sorry Ed I came across a little hard. The increased interaction you guys are doing is splendid but what I meant was that a lot of basic questions are still not being answered. Zac has managed 1 or 2 answers in the ask the devs post and I am hoping that you are gathering all the questions together to get answers for as many as you can. It just feels a little like you are "deflecting" but I'm sure everyone can see you are atleast trying which is way better than it was.

Would you not consider though that whilst doing things on the forums is all well and good and I applaud you for doing so. If you did these kind of competitions in game the you would be creating fantastic fun within Elite itself. You could do an amazing community goal, or be the first to take a screenie of something etc etc. At the same time adding content. Like the nvidia black story. I know some people didn't like the "advertising" but it still added great fun to Elite for a while.

Oh and sorry, I didn't mean to take your thread off topic.

I'll throw my bit in....Top Ten highest earning single trip explorers :)

And your Top Ten idea is exactly the reason why there should be a mix of things on the forum as well as in game :p


Still a bit tricky maybe, but how about the Top Ten Abraka Drabble winners?

Top 10 interdiction damage value I have sustained since gamma due to game bug that cause my ship to go backwards. In number 1 would be the one that cost 8million credits when coupled with the w+t bug.

It will also be hard to compile as I have literally hundreds to choose from :(

As for the top 10, how about top 10 silliest NPC names.

Btw, the community side layout might need some work, I had to scroll sideways to see the pictures, on a 1920x1080 screen.

Odd it was fine for me on Chrome, same resolution, and they took up less than half a screen width. The whole area is indented a fair amount from the edges of the screen.

I roleplay bugs as minor defects in the ship, as produced by Lakon etc. in game. So basically the ship is serviceable, but a badly adjusted torque converter throw me a curve ball now and then. Lakon's build quality is ever improving but, just occasionally, "some maintenance mechanic, at the last port I undocked" left a spanner in the works.

Top 10 handwavium explanations for common (or less common) bugs encountered.

Less smoke and more code, most of us are not fooled. Your running out of time, but then you already have my money so it seems my voice has little impact.
