I knew it couldn't be done but had to try it for myself

I knew you couldn't fly from one system to another in supercruise, but I thought I would see what happens if you try to, as I found two systems pretty close together.
Sorry the screenshots are a bit big, couldn't work out how to scale them down.

Somewhere deep into the not so black.

80 days! I think we can get there faster than that!

Captain we have achieved maximum velocity....
Note to self, buy a sidewinder on return and try dropping out of SC at this speed :)

Nearly there.... First time I have seen a systems distance listed in ls on the left hand panel.

and we have arrived, or we should have, but servers say no....
Its very hard approaching slowly as this far out from any bodies you accelerate so damn fast, a bit like trying to get close to a black hole without flying past it.

So there we have it, half an hour or so well spent getting nowhere

Repped, for the attempt. If you don't know, the reason for the witch space jump is to allow the systems enough time to transfer the new star systems' data to your computer (even if you haven't yet explored it, you still have received the data; all you need to do is to look at it!).

Oh I knew why it couldn't be done, I just wanted to see what happened when you actually got there, its the explorer in me.

I did wonder if it was cheaper on fuel doing it this way and then a <1ls jump at the end. I dont think I will try again to find out :)
