Ships Imperial Courier

Vulture is better but the looks. I play with oculus rift. The courier has the greatest looking cockpit of all the ships in my opinion.
It's a luxury jet fighter cockpit basically.

I love the cockpit too. If you have any sort of head tracking this cockpit is a joy to fly/fight from. Stripped right down it makes an Ok explorer. Gets 25-28 LY range... more if you dump the shield. (Never confident enough to do that). Very maneuverable in super cruise too. And view out there is spectacular from this fabbo cockpit. :)

It is an extremely agile ship that I find to be very proficient for combat, particularly in PP when undermining Control Systems of enemys. I use it to interdict cargo vessels in hostile space. It is also a phenomenal ship for RES farming. It holds its own with pretty much everything you can throw at it, even larger ships due to its extensive shields. I am not sure about PvP, as I am not much for that part of the game, but for combat in PvE, it truly is the best bargain for your buck, save the Vulture of course.

Here is my loadout that serves me quite well. If you are intending to buy for bounties, then you might want to replace one of the Sheild Boosters for a KWS to boost your bounties. Short of that this has been a great build for me pushing 650Mj shields. Of course, you need to make sure that your shields stay up, as the hull mass on this ship is not the best when it comes to its resilience against attacks when the shields are down. However, with a few shield boosters to four, as I have, you shouldn't experience that problem often:

I have a "maxed out" Vulture that I fly. It's an exceptional fighter with great firepower to engage larger ships. Those Class 3's really make a difference against larger ships.

However, since the Courier was released... I just had to go buy one. I don't care if it's a downgrade compared to the Vulture. It's just so sexy, and Imperial, and sexy, and shiny, and did I mention sexy? The way those weapons slowly glide out of the weapon pods like finely oiled ... well.. it's amazing.

So I bought one, not really having a goal in mind in terms of what to use it for.

I decided to tinker in coriolis.io (amazing site, much better than ED shipyard) and came up with this:

Ghroznaks Baby

This variant has decent shield, 20t cargo, all A rated modules. It's able to run everything and by using the priorities for the modules you can set it so the FSD and Fuel Scoop are inactive when guns are out... can't frameshift with guns out anyhow... nor can you use fuel scoop. So works perfect.

It's good for smaller cargo runs, KW scanning for bounty hunting and the adv-disco scanner I just added so I can simply bong once and pick up all the planets in a system so I don't accidentally fly into one. Plus it's good bonus money for no effort so why not (if you can afford the adv-disco scanner anyhow). I suppose this fits more into the multipurpose thinking.

Then I decided to make something a bit more specific.

Shields up!

This one has Class 3A shield instead of Class 2A. In addition I squeezed in 3 shield boosters (2 x B rated, 1 x A rated) and a 3B Shield Cell Bank. Why a 3B? Cause it has 4 charges @ 119 MJ each, giving you a total of 476 shield regeneration. The 3A only has 3 charges @ 138 giving a total of 414 shield regeneration. Plus 3B takes less power.

In this setup with guns out the FSD, Scoop, Interdictor and Cargo Hatch all go offline. Then again, do you need any of them during dogfighting as a bounty hunter? The total cargo hold is smaller as well, however you gained 509 shield capacity compared to the other variant which only has 371. It will take quite some effort to break the shields on this thing, and even if that does happen you can pump in 4 x shield cells to keep it operative longer.

I like the min/max setup in this one... but no cargo? This would make me throw a fit when I pop a Wanted T6 and he's pooping out cans of Palladium... and it would prevent me from doing some of the Power Play missions (moving small amounts of cargo / reports).

It's a fast multirole. It's basically a shiny Cobra, with Eagle maneuverability.

No, agility doesn't compare to an Eagle at all. The Courier is more like a Viper with a bigger power plant, slightly better jump range, stronger shields and more potential for carrying cargo.

As an imperial pilot I had to buy one when it became available, several weeks ago - but never really flew it. Today, I decided to sell it, concluding that it has no role any of my other ships (Asp, Vulture, Python) couldn't do better. However, before that, at least I had to give it it's swan song, so I took her to a HI-RES. Oh, how wrong I had been...! I had 75 minutes of hilarious fun, chasing dangerous, deadly and elite vipers, cobras, eagles and vultures. I still have a silly smile on my face:p. That was the biggest fun I had in weeks - not flying for merits, ranks or money, but for pure joy! Well, she will stay with me - how could I ever think about selling her?! Of, course I didn't mind the bounties worth well north of 2 million credits I made in those 75 minutes (pledged to ALD, rank 4);)
