woah there big guy i wasn't hurting nobody

since when did npcs start to become not suicidal? Getting scanned in the anaconda (while carrying precisely zero cargo) and the pirate will sometimes say things like "I can see you can handle yourself" or something along the lines of that and fly away. Is this a new feature with wings or did i finally progress into a ship that scares off npc pirates?

Doesn't really have anything to do with the ship as far as I can tell, although it may have to do with the loadout, sometimes they will scan you and make an informed decision based on your combat rank, other times they will interdict you in a shield-less sidewinder and proceed to threaten you for the 0.3 seconds it takes to obliterate them.

So its more-so my Elite combat rank and less the fact that im piloting a small cruiser?
 
It made me laugh the first time i saw this, especially as it was just after i deployed weapons.

It's good to see some 'life' in the npcs

I would say yes, combat rank + possibly combat loadout on the ship + perhaps the ship itself, although I believe its the rank that seems to be most important. However you can still get interdicted, fight them, they run and then say something similar before high waking.

Yes, they're smarter. Still not smart enough to realize that killing yourself for a fortune will get you just as dead as killing yourself for peanuts, though.
 
Ship and combat rank I think; I'm elite combat and don't get bothered in my conda but swapped into a cobra for some fun and was getting a lot more interdiction while carrying cargo
 
Side note: I really want the function which deals with that to look something like this:

Noticed it in the 1.3 update. Made me chuckle the first time it appeared, shortly followed by 'I don't want any trouble!'.

Suffice to say I didn't agree, there was trouble and the NPC bought it. :p
 
On 2 Ocations i was interdicted by an Npc, on my way in system ... i submitted and ran away into Frameshift ... was interdicted a second time by the same guy ... and skipped off Again.
Then, Emerging at the station he popped up behind me, all lasers blasting at my shields, so i boosted into the Station no-fire zone where all guns at once started blasting away at him
converting the stubborn Npc into dustbunnies.
