Commodities are too cheap

Hi CMDRs,

i think the solution for some less profitable roles like smuggling, pirating or mining would be to raise the prices of the commodities. Also it should make it more interesting to trade different commodities.

Suggestions:
- To boost the pirate profession high value goods are needed (nobody will rob a grain transport)
- To bring more variety in trading the quantities of high value goods should be reduced (more reasonable quantities for gold and other precious metals)
- Also prices and price differences of low price goods should be increased (a station on the brink of starvation will pay a fortune for a ton of grain)

Right now there is little to no reason to trade the low value goods, their prices don't increase much from where they were purchased.

Personally I think instead of messing around with them like that, they should focus on making the system fully dynamic, and make it so that for example, systems that are more remote then others can actually get into a state where they are desperate for a commodity, the high demand should mean more there, and price should increase significantly

Yes to the dynamic.

I find stations with 1mill ton demand for things but they pay 400c per ton below the galactic avarage. The ststion will never get the stuff they need, witch may well destroy there economy and starve there people cus they wont pay more than the avarage.

if fuel is scarce in a system the price should sky roket untill there is a surplus then drop to average. Piracey of fuel in that system and the aria will be worth doing as its price will be inflated.

same with food, or essential raw materials and medicen, and guns at war time.

Extream piracey of a comodity or trader murder, in the same system should inflate the price due to supply shortages.

And ilegal goods should always be in HIGH demand unless the black market is flooded with it then just avarage. If its ilegal people want it and they will pay big to get what they cant have.

There should be a much bigger variaty and variance of what is ilegal and where

thos will make things more interesting and boost piracey and smuggling income, though the police should get better at scanning, mabe go further out to the edg of the no fire zone.

I would rather they expand the commodity market as they go, they could have a 10000 different items. This could create many more missions, increase diversity in the economy and profits, and create hot spots for specific items, similar to the way rares work. Also Teir 2 and Tier 3 rares (combinations of rares at special refineries) to produce new Teirs.

If FD built their system correctly, inputing new items would be a low hanging fruit.

I agree. The high value goods should be way less in demand and in stock than the generally used items like food and fuel. And prices should be way more dynamic, where high demand also actually leads to good profits.the problem I still see with this is the amount of information available to us traders in-game. Without more info players would be really lost when searching for trade routes. A more complex and dynamic market would also need access to real time trade info, since finding profitable routes would be otherwise impossible. For example, if there is a high demand for something, there could be a kind of race, who can get it there first to get the highest price, with later traders getting less and less profit as the market gets flooded and saturated. This would need realtime market info. Another route would be the creation of bulletin board missions for the transport of goods to high demand stations. They technically exist, but only ever have few tons of cargo, so are not profitable for big ships. If there is high demand and they would need lets say 200t of that cargo, that would be a really profitable mission. The same would also be possible for the pirate missions.
