This Long count date is very clever. Dates fits much better than coordinates, because it is a positive integers only.

Some things don't quite align. That could be artistic freedom or it could simply be upside down. Both the tablets have the same number (13) in the bottom. Turn it and it looks similar to the intro. glyph.

My biggest question is the symbol you have as 8 k'atun. I don't think it is 8. It does not fit with the way 13 is writen.

I think it is a 4. I'm not positive, but I lean in that direction.
The reason is that these number usually have 4 columms. If you want to write 4 it is ••••

On the UA there is only 3 columms. This means that you can't write 4, 9, 14 or 19 unless you have an alternative method.

I hope you keep looking at this. I think this very much in the spirit of the game.

I think you may have struck gold :)

Thanks - ya there is definitely some artistic license - and yes i would be much happier if there were four columns .. I tried the other one just now but got another random date ... what you said makes sense for the 8/4 katun - will see what that generates :)

So whats going on with process. IS it doing morse code and if it is whats it saying.

I already know what they are and what they do.

Or least i have the best guess.

So how many have been found lately. MUst have a bunch of them by now.

Well, there is that mysterious constant looping sound I'm talking about all day, that is audible only close to the UA, but it seems no one is caring about... And it is not the distorted voices you usually ear near stations, no.

I just think many of us are 'audioed out', and tbh I listened once to what you were talking about, couldn't really tell what you meant, then tried again and heard something - but couldn't really make anything out that I could label as 'decodable'.

But, like I say, I think my ears are a bit tired!

There's a shift-change going on now, with many of our trans-atlantic UAers coming online, they might be fresh for the fight ;)

You should help with the UA hunt. If you're that convinced find a UA and show everyone.

(Temporary) Transfer of UA Stewardship

There have been lots of cries to test the UA with a long-jumping ship, to take it out of the Bubble, to try with the Diamondback, etc.

To accommodate this, Zenith has offered to help, equipping a DBE to handle doing these tests. I am borrowing my Unknown Artefact to them for short-term testing. We haven't defined a length of time, but Zenith is the person to hit up for tests of this nature.

No funds were transferred, the transfer is not permanent, it is intended as a loan to advance the discussions & research here. I'm placing my trust in Zenith & may entertain (but will not guarantee) future loan requests if we have a significant reason & I can't test it (in this case: Elite status & the relatively short range of the Courier).

Proof of transfer:

I dont have to. We already have two videos of them doing what they are supposed to do. Well one giff and one video.

Whats the point. I will just wait.

I have been working on the video and maybe if i got time i will figure out how to get the video processed. Never worked on editing video and such so learning as i go when got free time

I care & have heard it in every drop. But I can't make anything intelligible of it. It sounds like interference, which if the UA is transmitting to a (far-away?) location (maybe the low-frequency purrs are the packets), would make a good deal of sense. I don't have anything more to add to the discussion than "I hear it". :/

its the virus we used on the thargoids

One of the most "obvious" discussed theories, indeed ...

Sorry for your bad luck yesterday. Can feel your pain ...

And as the grand keeper of the "rare" list: You know that NPC's Haulers/Adder also exchange "rares" at outposts?
Have read for ages you found these " pavonis ear grubs". Try it out: scan before/while docking and after. Maybe some new occur ...
BTW: "pavonis ear grubs" finaly not in your list. Never found the source? But a little bit OT here.

We salute you!

Thank you mrtree!
I should say that I was offered this UA, I didn't specifically ask for it.

I'll be making recordings of my tests which will involve combinations of UA, SAP8, and Hafnium 178, recording prices at black markets in a spreadsheet, and looking to see if missions appear at particular stations.

I've suggested borrowing this until Sunday/Monday to cover what I want to try.

Except there was one found yesterday.

Stolen!!!?

Despite having never pirated before, I may have... coaxed... the UA out of the T-9's hold. While being fired on by the Anacondas & the T-9.

Honestly, it's usually not a problem outside of trying to enter stations. The police there must have a combined scanner (bounties + cargo) and I got fined once.

I see :)
The fact is that this sound I'm talking about, is a "White Sound" as they call it: it's that kind of persistent sound, like water flowing, or the constant sound of a vacuum cleaner, that our brain tends to exclude, not hearing it, because it's always there, constant.
But if you "isolate" it with your brain, you can catch a lot of details, those that I've described.
It is not the typical background noise we find in Elite, near stations for example, it's a structured sound emitted by the UA, that chitters at a high pitch, with variations that reminds me MORSE coming from a deep well.
BTW, thanks for replying, was much appreciated!

Special case of me replying now!

Give up that idea......you have avoided answering questions that counter what you've said for instance unkown arterfacts are still being spotted.....and so then if that was the intention of us letting them die or kill them then shouldn't the Unkown Arterfact's then not be spawning in convoys anymore? This makes me wonder as well as to what reasoning you even have for thinking that doing this is the best course of action when frontier have put in the galnet news article about the newest plague system a little hint of the UA causing it which is maybe a day or so after Karrash has tried to get a hint from frontier.........so counter that plus.....the UA's being convoyed still along with no clear proof shouting that we need to destroy them as soon as we get them.....since the UA has a lot of artwork put into it and sounds too.

Note: I have noticed you've not answered previous counters to your posts which also in a way says you can't really answer.........however if you did.....

Remember to try to always hit that jetition abandon button if it pops up as that's a way to get rid of that annoying tag.

Hmmm. So perhaps the morse *is* the only thing to discover. Indicating it is actually of human origin, despite it being disguised as alien tech. And perhaps there is nothing else to discover.

So... it's all an elaborate hoax? Created by someone to throw everybody off the scent while the real alien threat is out there? ;)

Thank you mrtree!

Hail the new sustainer!
And support him !!!!! ( if he wished ...)

Or plausible deniability, enabling the corrupt Federal Navy to unleash a nano-virus on select populations.

Hmm...

Honks, chitters, purrs and hacking bubonic coughing fits. Except for that last one, they've all proven to invite and fuel compelling strands of investigation. Most of which is decidedly beyond my own abilities but no less compelling.
However, resorting to "What can be decisively eliminated?" chaff-from-wheat musings, I have just been staring at the comms chatter from the pic on the Wiki.
Reviewing it, it led me to think of an alternative take on the "Have you listened to them?" hint/clue from Lord Michael of Brookes. It also led me to read some of the comments made by the convoy personnel as, if not blatantly in step with, at least hardly detracting from the Plague-Bringer idea.

Listen to them? Them who? Certainly, this is obviously the UAs being referred to but... well... with an eye on eliminating the convoy personnel... is it? Is the dialogue/comms on the Wiki known to be the entirety of their chatter?
