Ah ok, i never monitored this forum 24/7, i just remember that i could upgrade to alpha earlier and now and both on same price.

The email told me about "special discount" bla bla but i cant see it.

They maybe should have wrote: Now you can upgrade to alpha again.

Alpha is running since December and i have no idea about beta release date, but IMO, 100 Pounds in November and 100 Pounds for already running alpha, paired with calling it a discount - naaaa.

Half the price and u get me in, i still holding my Mastercard in my hands ;-)

I guess they should. By the way, they are looking for e-commerce manager. Communication missteps with new store indicates they need employee quite urgently. Let's hope someone stepping in soon :)

I don't see the issue some Beta access people have you pledged £100 for 1st round Beta access the £150 pledge was for Founding Member.

As much as I'd like to upgrade to Alpha, I can neither justify it or afford it at the moment to many repairs to my earth bound vehicles put that to bed.

And to much stuff to learn in my new job at the mo as well as my dog can be neglected once the Beta finally leaves space port. To be filling my time with bouncing off asteroids......

what is the salary, and does it come with complementary alpha access?

If, so, I wonder if a molecular biologist would be qualified to do it ;)

Two people back Elite: Dangerous.
A backs to £100
B backs to £150 and gets Founder level
Frontier allow both to upgrade to Alpha access
Both have to pay £100
A will have paid a total of £200
B will have paid a total of £250

Do you see the problem now?
Founder level isn't an upgrade, it is what you got for backing £150.
So why should someone who backed £150 be £50 worse off than someone who backed £100?

Just got the alpha now and have put in a order for a joystick. When my tax return gets here I'll look into upgrading my system to better enjoy this masterpiece :cool:

Your statement about feedback of alpha players i can fully agree. I really hope they have a bit of influence, i am still shaking from my latest failed blind-buy X-Rebirth... i hardly believe they ever had any testing outside of company or alpha/beta testers.


I watched some Elite:Dangerous alpha videos, they look nice.

Hi all,

Like most, I would love to upgrade to Alpha but I have some questions first.

I can see it's going to cost me £100 to do it.. so

How long is Alpha going to be run for? I can see multiplayer at the end of Jan... How much longer.

I don't want to pay £100 for something that only lasts 40 days or so. This is because I will only be able to test/play on the weekends. So that would work out for me about £20 a weekend.

Tho... could I let my brother (stay at home dad) login on his computer though the week, (not that same IP address.. not even in the UK) this would tip the scales :)

Can this question be answered.... a rough guess by the team would be nice ( i wont hold you to it ;) )

What do you guys think?

I can only guess - from my POV they need to cover in-system travel, space station docking, and trading, so it could be all February and part of March. Now...if it actually happens or alpha is limited to MP and let's say docking, I really don't know.
