Getting fuel during a Sag-A run

I been watching a few videos (mostly from Blind Pew) about the Sag-A run to the core. He never mentions how he stays fueled closer to the core. Most of the the stars near the core are unscoopable neutron stars, aren't they?

Are they? I didn't know that. Just filter the galaxy map for Class A,B,F,G,K,M and O starts. These are scoopable so plot your route through those.
Remember systems can have more than one star type so if you filter for those stars you can still land in a system with a non-scoopable main star and have to travel out to the scoopable one.

You get "fields" of neutron stars that are around the core but the density of stars is so much that theres almost always a scoopable in range. If your pc doesn't die try zooming in on the core and take a look. You'd be hard pressed not to find a scoopable star in that mess :)

I am currently thinking about how I shall visit the core one day. It may involve a Clipper filled to the brim with extra fuel tanks (and an A6 scoop)... :D

There are a plethora of scoopable starts around the core. On my final run in I think I only hit about 4 unscoopable in the last 30 jumps, never more than 2 in a row.

I filtered for KGB FOAM in the galaxy map, and looked ahead for each jump sequence. If you see a lot of jumps with no visible stars at the end of them, head off of a direct line route and re-plot after a few jumps. Either that, or once you reach about a half-tank, then stop, and plot a single jump to the nearest KGM FOAM star, re-fuel and re-plot again.

Enjoy your run, watch out for the bogeyman at the core.

I didn't run into one neutron star on the way, I had to actually try to find one one the way back to see what they look like.

You could get there in a sidewinder with a scoop. The only challenge is keeping up the concentration.

There are bazillions of scoopable stars surrounding the core, so don't worry. The neutron fields you're thinking of, I guess, are the several large fields that are actually some distance away from the centre. But even in these there are lots of scoopable stars. The areas which have less scoopable stars are, for example, the gaps between the various arms of the Milky Way. There is one between the arm the solar system resides in and the next arm on the way to Sgr A. Still, with an ample jump range there isn't really much to worry about; just keep your fuel tanks full once you begin crossing these regions.

Go the the galaxy map, type in the search window Sagittarius A and see for yourself. There's all kinds packed close together there.

I remember also there being something in the forums about the official quote unquote Sagittarius Run. Where you could do the Sagittarius Run and frontier would officially acknowledge that you went there and came back. But I do know, that you have to start, and come back to a certain place to officially be recognized. If one of you happen to know the details, or the link to the posting that lays out all the details, put a link to it here. With my luck, the starting point is right smack dab in the middle of Federation space. The Federation and I don't get along. I don't really know why, they just seem to be buttholes.

I have certainly seen no such 'official' thing. I believe there was a buckyball run to Sag A*, but that was unofficial, of ocurse. Anyway, since I did thr trip months ago, I sure am not doing it again, just to be 'official'.
