Current route is 5 hops, 4350 avg. Not a fan of the number of hops, but since fanangling my t7's heat output the route takes a total of 3 minutes (barring hiccups during hyperspace). So, it's not a big deal anymore. The time sink is in getting to the station (usually orbis ), and then readjusting to dock. Overall, I can do it ~4 times per hour which is around 3.75 million. I've tried other routes, but this one seems to be lasting and reliable.
On a side note, it would be nice (if someone knows how to do this, I would appreciate to know how) to know the orientation of the station as you are approaching it in sc. Many times I've been at the back end of an orbis where I would've smashed into its hind quarters if I were just a meter or two to the right.
