Ships God Ship?

I'm very much looking forward to fitting mine with a prismatic shield generator. Of all ships, the Python has the greatest abundance of power with that 7A plant. Even the Conda with the mighty 8A plant hasn't that much leftover juice when fully A fitted.
 
With only 30 shots in the Imperial Hammer versus all his shield banks.... I don't see how I can break thought his defense any other way. I would've ran out of ammo or ran out of hull if I fought in his terms. I made sure he fought in mines. Ancient Roman naval tactics included ramming of enemy ships to sink or board it. It's easy to dodge a ram, players that Ive fought the 2nd time or probably seen the my videos and learned of my tactic easily avoid me. But I like the challenge and enjoy fighting other players who counters my actions and keep this combat more fun.

I guess my point is your not supposed to be able to break his defences, they are ships of a different class. Also I guess for me it's more the physics involved two ships hitting head on a just bouncing apart is pretty much just absurd but this has nothing to do with the topic on hand.
 
Internals 100% hull reinforcements. This is pure PvP build and hull tanking build. No room for other stuff unless you want to sacrifice armor.

Am I the only one that thinks this ramming technique is getting a bit out of hand.

But... if you go all those hull reinforcement packages... don't they still just snipe your powerplant?

I'm missing something, aren't I...
 
Its still difficult to snipe the plant because Im constantly going in and out of silent running, which breaks the contact, therefore everytimje they re-aquire target on me, theyll also need to re-select my powerplant, its another distraction from actual combat that I take advantage of.

I wouldn't call the python a god ship but its pretty good and i would love to test my metal against an anaconda

If you consider valid as anything doing damage then yeah. If you consider valid as something that makes the game feel like a space combat sim and not a desperate struggle to get videogame kills, then no

Mainly referring to this, where a DBS (Humvee) is able to destroy a Python (Tank) by repeatedly ramming head on into it. Bogus strategy. Were it the other way around, I could understand (even though its still a brutish and unrespectable strategy), as the Python's shields and hull integrity outclass the DBS'.... however the idea that a DBS can gain an advantage by repeatedly ramming into a Python (supposedly far outclassing the DBS in terms of combat),is pretty ridiculous. This is no doubt an oversight by Frontier (Im sure no dev thought "Well the damage mechanics for collisions will be a perfect strategy to take down ships that far outclass your own!")

The only way a Python should be defeatable by such an inferior ship is through far superior outfitting, flight skills, or strategic use of wingmates. (This is coming from someone who flies a Cobra/Viper/DBS/Eagle himself, I prefer to defeat opponents via outmaneuvering/outsmarting over pure weapon strength)

Well here is the thing in regards to that video.. We don't know how the Python was outfitted. Very poorly I assume. Also we don't know the skill of that CMDR. He probably didn't have full pips to shields and I doubt he was running an 6A Shield... That is a poor video to compare anything to. Also the DB was running a stealth ship which means all internals where hull reinforcements which make it a heavy ship that is effective at ramming even without shields. Works great on the ASP as well because it has so many internals. Fill those internals with hull reinforcement and it weighs a ridiculous amount. The DBE was probably running something similar to this:

But even so...I assure you that DBE wouldn't have knocked my shields down by ramming me.

Ramming has been around since the beginning and never to my knowledge have the devs said it is exploitive or breaking the balance of the game.
