3000 Lightyears in 68 seconds: Exploring doesn't have to be slow.

I've been mostly trading and wanted to try something different. Doing a bit of research and noting how to do Exploring, I bought an Asp, kitted her out and picked a route out from Sol that I thought others wouldn't do. It worked for me.

Every time I entered a system, I screenied it...plus a few Water / Earth Like scans too. Not really knowing what I was going to do with the images until I thought about putting them together in a short video. Total play time for the 3,000+ Ly trip was just over 8hrs and netted 4million credits (poor compared to trading, but that wasn't the plan).

I had a blast, was surprised how much I enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone that hasn't yet and wants a change of pace.

Here's my video short, enjoy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJNcPjp-ews

Happy spacing, CMDRs.

Nice video, OP, thanks for sharing (+1). I like to think there's many forms of exploring, you just did what you liked to do.

@Wendiga:Nice sig :)

Thanks. I really agree that playing the game how you want is key. When researching a bit on Exploring, most of the talk was about weeks or months out in the Long Dark...and I didn't want to commit to that much. So I set myself the goal of spending about eight hours Effort over a few days Duration. More than anything it was about finding out how much I enjoyed Exploring.

Thanks for the +1.
:)

That's what I've been doing so far for my exploration. I have a home base for trading so didn't want to be out of touch for too long.

So all my trips so far have been 'day trips' - go out, muck around, and come back before end of that day's play session - 4hrs on weekdays, 8 hour on weekend day

On a weekday, I can maybe go 1000 light years out, and back - with time to scan the obviously good stuff I see. On weekend 8 hour exploration days, I didn't get quite as far as the OP but was finding lots of first scan systems within just a few 300 LY out of bubble range so I've been mostly putting my claims down in less than 1k LY radius around the bubble.

Found this in one of my image decks...I'd been exploring for a while being the first to Tag 'em, and was surprised to see that this star had been claimed by a Chubby Henparty...I think a little bit of wee came out as I laughed.
