First to 'shield down' PvP practice?

I'd like to get more practice on PvP without the obvious cost implications of losing your ship each time, and im thinking a few 'first to shield down' bouts with players with similar ships - if anyone is interested.

Are there any private groups or anything where players are organising stuff like this?

All 1v1 PvP is "1st to shields down", the shieldless player then jumps.

Most PvP you get is a wing interdicting you, and that's just run, chaff and do crazy rolls until the FSD charges for high-jump. Pre-wings I used to like PvP, and got some nice scraps, even one memorable 2v1, but after Wings ans after a dozen FDL and 2 Vultues interdicting me (every damn time I was in or around Diso) I more or less gave up on PvP...that plus the "Open is for PvP" crowd, that just depresses me.

CQC may change that as it offers balanced PvP, so I may stick to groups and CQC in future.

Ask around.. some CMDR's love a little no risk pvp, and sparring is a great way to see what you need to improve on (for me that's a lot ) Stations are good places to find someone...

I have a vulture? I'm about to buy a courier too. I have a clipper and an ASP, but the Clipper is being sold and the ASP is explorer load out only.

Yeah...I tried suggesting this to a player today after he killed me a couple of times (got his shields down and hull to 20% the first time in his Vulture, then he came back in his Clipper...). As soon as I'd managed to say "Hi...wait..." he just shot me on sight every time after that. Clearly a good PvP player, but sheesh...community spirit? Nah...

I interdicted a couple of 'wanted' players in similar ships today and said I didn't want to fight but just to spar. Admitedly they did stop attacking when I asked and saw I wasn't for the kill, but they didn't hang around, and instead just legged it.
